been listening to this mix (http://www.bringtheheat.com/Discomixes/Rahaan_Disco_06_14_03.ram) A LOT lately, and there's a couple songs on there that i would love to find out what they are, so if anyone could help me out?
first one starts about 13 minutes into his mix, simple guitar loop, bit of a dubby feel, with a repeted female vocal "how high?" and later adds a trumpet, and vocals add "does my love go?"
second is something like the future/human league; right after 'ic love affair' at aprox 29 minutes into the mix. male vocals going on about "looking for love".
there's actually a couple more that i'd like to know, but these are top priority ;)
and from this mix (http://deephousepage.com/Rahaan_Disco_02_05_03.ram) the song that starts 26:30 into the mix. male vocal "all this cussin' and fussin'", "you don't know what you're doing to me now, woman" "i'm supposed to be wearing the ... around here" "our .... argument!"
i'm probably the only person that doesn't know what this is...

hey Jurren,
here's the beginning of the tracklist of the first mix..
1. Intro Disco -Discotheque (this is even a Belgian or Dutch disco production).
2. ?
3. Universal Robot Band - Dance Dance Dance
4. Spencer Jones - How High (Elite Rec, Londen)
the last record is the one you are after .. I think Rahaan bought this in Belgium, when he was over..
the second one is N.O.I.A 'Looking for Love' ..not that difficult to find nowadays..The group even has a new album out, but of what I've heard, it wouldn't be as tight as their eighties stuff..
greetings,

greetings, Yeah. I remember seeing this one in my cousin Paul's crate while learning how to play in the early 80's. Hearing it was very nostalgic.

intro disco, that's the one showing at the start of rahaan's trip to belgium innit? don't really think the fact that it's from the lowlands is going to be of much of a help, can't remember ever having seen any 'telex' releases, eventhough their from belgium...
i actually kinda liked the second tune aswell, sounds like something i-f [ferenc] would play aswell. there was another sort of similar record somewhere further up in that mix, also with female vocals [singing something like
"you're my wonderboy"], and i think it samples kraftwerk 'man-machine', it sounds so wrong, that it's right again.
now that we're talking about rahaan mixes; what's the first track on this mix? (http://www.bringtheheat.com/Discomixes/Rahaan_Disco_07_17_03.ram) the one with the insane strings, can't remember who sampled it, but it's probably carl craig.

The Female tune you are asking about is Klein & MBO-Wonderful.1982 Atlantic Records.
I did not pick up any Kraftwerk sounds from that cut. Then again,I can not remember Man Machine.

jurren </font>[/QUOTE]i do not know what that first track is, but it sounds like another Rahaan edit.. Can someone please put all these Rahaan edits on wax...They are so hot !
I do have a spare copy of Intro Disco if you want..I prefer to do trades in case you have something ..If not, you can have it for 10€ .. smile.gif
About the second tune (the I-F one)..I'm a bit puzzled here.. I'm quite sure I have it somewhere, but I can't find it anymore..Is it possible this was on a Classic's 80's Groove compilation (Master Cuts)?
greetings,
ps : are you coming to DHP gaterhing in Deinze, Jurren?
