We're MOVING!!!!
After 3 great months at Suite 16's we are proud to announce that we are moving to a new and better club on the Lower East Side.
Our time on 16th & 8th Avenue has been great and the management and staff have made us feel nothing but welcome at all times.
However as we are a true dance party our emphasis is always on good quality sound and the right equipment to deliver the message of global dance grooves.
One a weekly basis I would hire additional sound equipment as well as bring in my own turntables, effects and CD players. This was becoming both expensive and time consuming with all the wiring needed to be done before and after each party.
For this reason we have decided to move to a more suitable and brand new club space at 217 Bowery.
The Club is called Mission and is 2 blocks down from Satellite Records between Spring and Rivington.
The best part is that we have
2 FLOORS! with 2 seperate and awesome EAW sound systems.
We will be moving this coming Sunday July 20th in time for Victor Rosado's birthday party also celebrating the birthdate of Larry Levan.
As a special treat we are seving food and will have 2 floors of DJ's playing HOUSE and CLASSICS
Upstairs will be E-Man & White Mike Sarkus playing House.
Downstairs will be the Garage party with Victor Rosado playing Classics.
The party will run from 6pm till 2am so for those of you going to the Fort Green Park party to hear Joe play, we shall be going for 5 more hours after the park event ends at 9pm.
Sunday July 20th
Sunday Sesions on 2 floors at
Club MISSION
217 The Bowery
btw Spring & Rivington
Nearest Subways are the
R train to Prince street
6 Train to Spring Street

Although most of our B&S regulars are in attendance each Sunday.
The space is really dope though and having 2 floors means we can have more variety and more DJ's play

Each party has it's own flavor although the vibe at Sunday Sessions is often described as similar to an early B&S feel

Although they all have their own individual NYC projects at this time.
FK has a beautiful Monday Dub party at Cielo (Well worth checking out)
DK has his monthly 718 Sesssions which will be a boat ride on August 3rd which are also highly recommended.
JC has 2 monthly parties in the Fort Green Park coming up (Lot of people waiting to hear Joe play in NYC again) Plus I hear rumors that Joe is gearing up for a weekly party starting in September.

Congratulations on the new space. Can't wait to check it out! I am among those still missing B&S at Vinyl. That space just felt holy on Sundays. Good to hear about the other parties as well.
Please tell me that Julius the Mad Thinker will still be playing at the new Sunday Sessions space on the 27th. Can't wait to hear him again and have had the date saved for a month!

Next Sunday Julius "the Mad Thinker" is in the house and another surprise upstairs as well.

I second that. I think what would be great is to submit mixed CD's and have one room be unheard talent every other week. Man - hit me on the PM with your thoughts and/or address if need be. I'll send you one or bring you a CD one Sunday soon.

I have always tried to feature as many DJ'a as possible and wherever possible (Check back on my Legends DJ list). The reality however is that until we have a good consistent high number of patrons each week, it is hard to offer a room to unknown DJ's in the hope that they will fill the room. This is a big factor with the club owners.
I also have to consider that in having 2 rooms it means that we have 2 different vibes going on and not soulful house on both floors.
By all means submit a CD which I am always grateful to get but before Kervyn bites my head off, a submitted CD does NOT guarantee you a gig.

As for different vibes, does this mean hip-hop, progressive, trance, d&b etc?
Should it be mailed to your Bloomfiled, NJ address?

I understand. I do like the idea of having some time intended for unheard talent to play. And I stress talent. Not some jack to get up there and train wreck for a half hour.
