I feel bad though for the ones still over there. They probably don't feel anything celebratory about this day. Isn't the Jessica Lynch interview being shown tonight?

The United States Marine Corps celebrate its 228th birthday yesterday and Marines worldwide recognizes and celebrates it. I could not help but reflect on the Marines that were in Iraq that are not alive to celebrate it with us.

Requiem For The Dead

Shaded eye mourn
a silent litany.
The Dead speaks to
shrouded ears.
The gray clay sucks
at the fat worm's belly,
and dusk's grasping
embrace sneaks you
quietly away.

Peter B. Hill - taken from Vietnam and Other Reflections - My Father

Glad you guys are here with us, so many aren't.

Dolemite, next week my man, next week ;)

Throughout history, Army units have been stopped by enemy mines and obstacles and to get moving again, have called on Combat Engineers---Sappers to come forward and clear the way under intense enemy fire. It takes a special Soldier who trains in peacetime with live explosives and studies the enemy's constant trickery to thwart our mobility, who is ready to give his life to clear the way for our Army to roll on!!!

Leonard I see you're still talking like an idiot. When the shit in the world gets REALLY deep like total world wars and continents can dissapear belive the Navy has something to do with it. We've been holding shit down since forever. NO country can rival our NAVY One NAVY sub can wipe any continent off the face of the earth..you gotta be kidding me. The Marines checks have Dept.of The Navy stamped on them dude. You still know nothing. Give the Marines a ride..yeah and provide Naval Gunfire Support while they hit the beach. Know before you speak The Navy is The Big Boys when we get involved it's gonna be over. The ship I was on alone could wipe out Iraq point blank. In the final analysis a member of ANY branch of the armed forces can lose their life so no one branch is any less important than the other. We all put ourselves in the position to be killed fighting for this bullshit we call a country. Tell that shit to the sailors families that have lost their lives. Again your statements still show how much it is that you don't know and you need to shut the fvck up..period...You don't have a fvcking clue!!
