Yeah..I'm late. But, better late than never.

I know who he is from a jazz documentary, but never heard any of his stuff. My mother-in-law recently gave me one of his albums, "Facing You". I'm no expert on pianist, but I really like what I hear from this guy. I'm on the hunt for more.

You gotta check out his stuff from the late 60s and seventies. He was never too crazy about the "electronic" age of Jazz but the stuff that he did with artists such as Miles Davis and drummer Jack DeJonette is worth checking out.

Very emotional piano player, you'll often hear him singing along with his solos, a strange "squeel" throughout his piano work. It just adds to his mystique!!

Here is an excellent compilation for Jarrett fans and piano Jazz fans. There are actually only two Jarret pieces(McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea each submit two), but they're very nice:

Enjoy.

Check out his work with Charles Lloyd like "Forest Flower." His solo is ridiculous.

Got two of his records this summer:

"Death and the Flower" and "Treasure Island"

and i really like 'em...not your usual Black Jazz-Muse-Strata East etc. vibe but meditative and spiritual in his own way.
Not to dis the metioned labels of course..i just have a feel that he is in its own world musically(he has a site where he share also lot of deep musical and about life thoughts).

Enjoy!

Marco Keith's a very very heavy cat, brilliant dude.
Most of his stuff is amazing.
Especially 60's and 70's imo.
He's recovering from a rare disease that made it
impossible for him to play his piano for a couple
of years.
