The Euro has been kicking the dollar's ass for the last two years, but when the "new" Iraq starts accepting dollars, rather than euros for oil payments, methinks the tables may be turned.

ChiJAM </font>
there isn't going to be a new Iraq. at least not the way the falcons are thinking this thing. America is about to change the course of the world - with pretty much the rest of the world working against America. whether this war ends quickly or takes 10 years - everybody else is going to see America from a totally different perspective once that first bomb hits target. do not underestimate the power of the people.

peace. ngeso.

Let's face it...when it comes to going out for a day of protesting, you can get a bunch of people (at least once). But when it comes to people actually dedicating their time and energy to a cause, I think you'll find that most would rather catch the latest reality TV show than meaningfully work towards changing the events that happen on the other side of the globe. There have been plenty of terrible events that have been more deadly than this war will be, and the vast majority of people in the West just sat on their asses.

And while most countries' populations do disagree with the war, the latest poll I saw showed that 65% of Americans are ready. That figure will increase when "our soldiers" are put into action.

For as much as I bitch and moan about the topic on this board, you don't see me going out and volunterring for humanitarian agencies set to help the Iraqis after the conflict, or writing letters to Congressmen and foreign administrations, or trying to encourage like-minded people to vote (shit, i don't even vote), or any of the other thousand things I could do make my voice a reality. It is a lot easier for the masses to have opinions than it is for them to do anything.

I think that the voice of the masses is highly overestimated. Only the powerful shape world events. It has always been that way, and probably always will.

ChiJAM </font>
yes, the rest of the OPEC countries that were flirting with the idea of adopting the Euro as their Petrodollar, might not think its' such a great idea now also for fear of AR15firing.gif
