Ron Paizley and I thought we were so late, but we showed up right on time...we were second in the food line! Ha ha! We gave our donation because we were grateful for all the work Ray and his people put in. Y'all missed the food...that pound cake was off the hook. Ray I hope you put out a donation tray at the next DHP party. You deserve it. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
I had a great time. Saw lots of people I hadn't seen in a while. So nice to meet Groove Victim, Lola Desire & Kenspank (who were hangin with folk I hang with on the regular, Brett & Tahir), Girlfriday, Richie Rich, Ronnie Ron (again)...
Wunmi is the shit! She did a full split and popped back up in heels on a slippery, dirty stage...didn't anybody catch that photo op???

I had a blast as always as did my son, whose non-chalance when meeting DHPers and discofriends was belied by his rushing me to get myself together and get to the park before it got too late, his dancing on the stage with his best friend and his place on line for food...first (and yes the child was fed before we left the house).

It was soooooooooooo goooooood!!! I look forward to the Jamboree every year, it has come to signify the end of summer for me, a special time for friends to get together, break bread, dance and listen to some good ass music! All the DJs outdid themselves, it was great to see Cybil back, Wunmi's performance was riveting, it was really special to see our own Shalewa up there turning it out, you looked so happy Shalewa!!!!

Cheddi, where were you? I was operating from the periphery making multiple excursions into the fray for the TRUTH and other missions.

Victor Rosado did someting freaky on top of "Love is the Messsage"...what was that??

saw a young boy doing fancy steps on the stage, was it to James Brown?? that was real cool. on my way out, i see Shalewa doing her native moves on the stage.. real nice, Sha-rock.

the dancer that caught my eye was a fine nubian princess in army green tank, jeans and hat.. doing her cool, freestyling on the floor to the far left of the stage. loved the coolness of her moves.

Ray, sorry I couldn't be there. But from the looks of the pics, it looks like the party was all that and more. I wish I had your energy (maybe I need some Truth!!)
