This page contains a few examples of what, I think, is clever "English" invented by the Japanese. Although I have just put a few choice phrases here, the amount of unusual "English" expressions found in the modern Japanese language is enormous. From pop-groups to movie stars there are some real gems!

A Few Clever Examples
• An old man who is bald yet brushes the little bit of hair remaining on the left side all the way to the right to give the illusion of a full head of hair is said to have bar-code hair
• Skinship is a friendship which has reached a very intimate level
• When couples wear matching outfits. It's called pair-look
• U-turn rush occurs when large numbers of holiday makers return to Tokyo after a national holiday
• A housewife who has a drinking problem caused by a husband who never comes home is called a Kitchen Drunker
• When your physician orders you not to engage in some activity which is harmful to your health, such as drinking 2 or 3 bottles of whiskey everyday, you must do a doctor-stop in Japanese.
• Old people who fill up thier social calendar by going from clinic to clinic looking for new friends are doing a doctor-shop
• A Rumpen is a homeless person. Just think of Karl Marx and what he described as the lumpen proletariat.
• Company Divorce occurs when a man gets transfered out of town and the wife says something like Thank God I won't have to see that loser except on holidays
• A bathroom scale is called a Health Meter
• If you have a silver spoon in your mouth you are called an escalator in Japanese because you are headed nowhere but up.
• A three letter word that equals a romantic encounter is known as love-love-fire
