how many of you toast your rasin bread?
my problem is that the bread is thinly sliced. when i put it in the toaster, it falls of the lowering bracket and gets jamed against the heating elements.

tc rad or red?? Sounds like Sun-Maid, which I like myself. I would suggest putting the butter on beforehand and sticking it into the oven for a few minutes. The butter melts INTO the bread before it's toasted, and it's excellent!......JMJ :D

BINGO - Sun Maid is the one.
i might try the oven. but i hope it dont take long. i hate waiting over the toast as it stand right now.
what really pissing me off is that i need to stick a nice in the toaster to force the bread out. sometime the bread is stuck pretty tight and the knife breaks right through the bread. by the time i get it loose, the bread is pretty tore up. graemlins/shudder.gif

Dear Mr. Rasin Bread:
We've all been warned by mothers/teachers/wives not to stick forks or knives into the toaster to retrieve stuff that's gotten jammed in there or is too short to reach the top of the slots. Is it really possible to electrocute yourself this way? How likely is that? How many people actually get injured in this manner? --Gary M. Raydon
SDSTAFF Q.E.D. replies:
Just guessing, Gary, but it sounds like you think that electrocution by toaster is a silly female superstition and that manly men have nothing to fear. Perhaps we can also guess your feelings about seat belts, sunscreen, and motorcycle helmets. Luckily, owing to generations of mopes sticking knives into toasters, appliances and house wiring now have safety features built into them to protect guys like you from yourself. But nothing is foolproof, and if you insist on doing your thing with that knife, you're still taking a chance.
A toaster works by causing a current to flow through a special type of wire with a high resistance to electrical current. The resistance converts the flow of current into heat that browns your bread. As with any electrical appliance, probing a toaster's innards with a metal item like a fork or a screwdriver entails some risk. You probably think that if the toaster is off, the coils are cool, and no current is flowing, it's perfectly safe to use a handy butter knife to dislodge your stuck Toast Masterpiece. It's true that it's safer than it used to be.

Aight Tony Cano, allow me:
First, if your toaster vertically or horizontally orientated, i.ee, does the shit slide down in it and pop up when its done, or do you lay it on a tray and slide it in while adjusting the knob to the desired levell of darkness?
I don't know about you, but I'm thinking about how the above could also be a girl, but believe you me, I am talking about toasters here.
Is it is the one like I have, you slide it on a tray and dial the knob. In this case, I would simply lay it on a sheet of tin foil which is extra convenient because no matter what you do, the foil doesn't get too hot to handle or too cold to hold.
In the event your toaster is vertically oriented, i would advise you take your ass to the thrift store and the type of oven i have which is much more convenient than those old-ass electrocutin toasters.
I hope this helps.

You have absolutely too much time on your hands on your days off!!!
Try putting two slices of rasin bread in each slot of the toaster. Then you'll have thicker bread! graemlins/acclaim.gif

i don't get it.
you guys have offered some excellent suggestions. but i'm tired of your work arounds.
i wanna know the guys name who decided to thinly slice the bread! why can't I have my favorite brand of raisin bread with the right thickness.
didn't these people do their homework. toaster are for toasting bread. if shit gets stuck, then it's a bad design.

tc Just simply tell me what type toaster you have; the antique vertical one which is hard to come by anymore or the horizontal one which would call for the tin foil.

get a better grade toaster. IT's not the bread that's the problem, it's the toaster.
;)
I reemmber some show I saw when I was young - like Zoom or something -where they were camping and created this solar toaster oven and cooked their eggs and toast all from aluminum foil, and sun, and maybe a magnifying glass or something, and by the time they had the blanket nicely laid out, and the plates and silver wear, the toast was ready.
Wish I remembered how they did that. haunts me to this day that i didn't sit down and take notes. think about it all the time.
