I checked that out and will buy it with the quickness. It has Jesse's On and On tracks on one side and the original Mach One.That's what inspired Jesse to remake it.I will buy this just to have a cleaner version of mach One.The only version I have is the Lost Records press and that has bit the dust.

Lyot, they've had this in at Vinyl Junkies so it will probably be on their site (www.vinyl-junkies.co.uk) as Real Audio.
I heard it in the mean time, and to my big surprise, it seems to be a track i've never heard before in my life..It's strange, since I assumed i had (on one of the mixes up here).
About the track..it's nice, but nothing outstanding. He basically took the bassline of On & On by Mach and added a bit to it. I'm still stunned more by that Mach track..On the original that I have it says this track was made in 1980. I think that is pretty impressive..Magic_Juan told me that the vocal on that On&On track is Donna Summer (Tsjoek Tsjoek..Boom Boom) ..The bassline though, the one also Jesse Saunders used, is not done by those Mach guys themselves..In their turn, they TOOK IT ! ..A couple of weeks ago, I ran into an old TK disco record, probably of the year 1978/1979...I forgot the title of the track, but it has something to do with 'Space' if my memory serves me right..This track has the exact same bassline as the On&on track by Mach..So basically, those Mach guys in 1980 took that sample, re-cut it and put the vocal of Donna Summer over it. Well, I think that's more impressive then Jesse making his On & On in 1983 (1984?)..Okay, it's the a defining house record that influenced so many records hereafter, but that Mach did something equally innovative, even four years earlier.. To me it's a 100% house track..
Is there someone who knows if this track was played from 1980 onwards in clubs in Chicago ?
for those who are after it, it's also on one of the Ron Hardy compilations (Muzikbox)

I don't have the record on my pc, but I will try to record it in the upcomin days so people who are interested can download it from me..

Lyot, you are talking about Space Invaders.
i'm not sure Jamie what the exact title was, but it's very much possible it's Space Invaders (provided that track got out on TK by the end of the seventies).

I'm positive on this one. They used Space Invaders,Funkytown,Bad Girls and Get on the funk train.

Jamie is right. The bassline from Mach1 was taken from the beginning intro to Space Invaders by Playback.
I played it at the beginning of my set in Deinze, Tom D..It's that Tsjoek Tsjoek..Boom boom track..Very very repetive and low-key..
So Jamie, they used four different tracks for it ? And on the other side of the record (I can't listen now, it's at my girlfriends place) , i think it's the same with even more other samples used ?
Is one of the two sides a downstripped version ?

It's discussed and played on the "Pump up the volume", well worth watching, I think it's still in the viewing room (?) ;)

Lyot, you have an original Mach? There was a link here a while back that had all types of dj only records listed.Disconet,Mach,Hollywood and so many others. They had the songs listed.I already knew about the Mach.He made a few of them, the first one being the most popular.
The flip is just a melody, that's how it was listed.

The flip is just a melody, that's how it was listed. man, i have two original mach's .. smile.gif I found it for 2,5$ each ..The second one was laying around on the floor of a shop, without a cover or a wrap around it..It's lightly scratched, but a good deal of water will keep it going smooth..I've just traded it with Jonny McIntosh, who will be playing it out a lot, I hope.. ;)
I think the flip is a medley, but I can't really remember well..It has the same bassline as On&On , I think..
what exactly does the term 'dj only records' mean? Were these very limited issues, only reserved for certain dj's ?

I have an original Mach too - got it pretty cheap on ebay a couple of years ago.
I actually had a copy in 1990 - found it for next to nothing in a used shop in Manchester - didn't know what it was and bought it on the hoof - can't say I really played it a lot at the time. Anyway, someone stole it from me.
The bassline by the way is from Funky Town by Lipps Inc.

Another one to look out for just to have in the collection is anything in the Bits 'n Pieces singles.Nice melodies"edits" of top disco songs at the time.I have one from 79 that I like.
