With the addition of New Jersey based correspondent Kerry Lass, BounceFM has returned to its full featured in-depth interview. This week we profile Philadelphia's finest, DJ Rich Medina. Don't be fooled by his Ivy League lineage, this Cornell University graduate displays a profound understanding of black music and is one of the most eloquent DJ's we've come across in the five years we've been around. Read on to learn more about this DJ who maintains residencies at Jump N Funk (NYC), Little Ricky's Rib Shack @ APT (NYC) and Afro-Rican Vybe (Philly).

Here's some of what he had to say:

I ve been b-boying my whole life.
-On His Upbringing

In high school I was all state jazz band on the tenor saxophone. So, music has always been a gigantic part of my life.
-On Music

I consider myself, and a choice few of my homeboys who do the same crap as me, to be chameleons
-On His Style

House music is music that is a genre that usually goes from 98 beats a minute upward and is usually based on a four to the floor production ideology and then it s broken down into different sub genre s within that.
-On House Music

The best thing about being a DJ is the fact that you can have a full-blown personal conversation with anywhere from 300 to a thousand people without opening your mouth one time.
-On DJing

My first paid gig: a Temple University Kappa Alpha Si step show.
-On His First Paid Gig

We just want to elevate people's mind state man, take people off the radio, take people off the street, take people out of the cookie cutter. Let them realize you can buy into your own ideas and have other people do just the same.
