For all that we discuss on this board, it seems to me that the overwhelming message on this board is that this life - all of it - boils down to finding balance.

As a Taurean I am predisposed to polar behavior - one extreme or the other - I find that as I get older I am more focused on finding balance in everything I do.

Do any of you have any strategies for finding balance in your lives that you'd care to share?

jmnyc,
i hear you loud and clear. i am also of the bull(sh*t). balance is a really hard thing to get to. really the plan i have is work hard/play hard. if you work a lot, try to play just as much. easier said than done, but extremes always get you in trouble. if i sleep a lot one day then the next one needs to have me getttin' things done. blah, blah, blah...

I hear ya Square - I do the same thing, but it's just so intense to keep bouncing back and forth, back and forth - I'm trying to find places of balance so that I'm not working OR playing TOO hard but it's just tough sometimes. I've realized that it must be very common since it applies to all of these DHP threads.

DHP = the house microcasm of the world.

(b 4 I give my often heard opinion/methodology, I gotta admit that your thread had much merit...well, if you really meant it....What's your purpose in Life I believe)...

Not an easy task, cant say that I am any where near the mark. If this may help, try doing things you dont want to do. Also, balance must start outwardly and work inwardly, so its said. The later being the tougher of the 2 roads. Once you can woop-up on the flesh (i.e., you discipline it constantly), the inner sphere will give.

Work hard in everything, I dont believe that this is an embalance, I think its a poor mans excuse for never self-reflecting, especially when you briefly look among the masses(YEP, another generalization which sure doesnt hold TRUE for ALL, however judging the outward(one's behavior) it becomes apparent.

It's supposed to be tough too(the road to balance), because the merit is so high in the 'eyes' of The Creator. I truly dont know though, truly.

I'll post something deep concerning the matter in just a little bit.......

this is how i see it..

get to thinking for yourself, and no one else. Rely on noone else's thinking, or "common sense".

fine tune your inner voice

and then ALWAYS follow what your inner voice has to say.

I know. easier said than done. ..

Do any of you have any strategies for finding balance in your lives that you'd care to share? If I ever feel like one area of my life is being neglected I try to look at the things that are cluttering my life and evaluate their importance.

I found that alot of the imbalance is caused by paying too much attention to temporary things.

I now try to enjoy the Hell out of everything I do, and be grateful for every moment I get to spend with the people I love.

BTW this is my last post as I have just realized I don't like house music. I'm going back to the accordian and bagpipe lovers web page graemlins/bolt.gif
