A lot of old head's should Remember this club.
On the West Side of Chicago, it was called the "Place acros the Street" on chicago ave. graemlins/scared.gif
At that Time "Feel the Drive and Tittle Tattle" was the shit, and you were either "New wave or Old wave" at the time! graemlins/grinyes.gif
WBMX just started doing Hot mixes, and it was just a wild Time in my life. graemlins/acclaim.gif

Dan, Truely, I realy dont give a Rat's ass about how or even what you think.
As many "Old Head's" that post here pretty much know more than I do, and I realy dont claim to know everything here.
It's a memory of a club, do you have memorys that you would like to share?
I've been here on and off for the past 5 year's, reason being..because I have a life.
I have no time to be RIEN as such as yourself, nor' do I have time to lower myself to your skills.
Let it go, give peace a chance, live your life as you see it.
Life will pass you by if yourself continue to have a negative thaught on a man that you dont even know.
I thank you for your time.

Greetings Blue:
Great names of places "to go to" --- very inviting indeed.
When arriving in the city - '62 and around 63 I went to a place called the Table Tops on 125th street....3 doors down from the Appolo. It was a private social club with a lot of wonderful folks.
One of them was Larry Patterson.
I hung out there for a few years til they moved and then closed. It was owned and operated by a group of lesbians.
We had just a juke box and great songs on it and we had a ball.
The Charades was then the new spot to go to on 92nd and 2nd ave "on thursdays" Place was always packed to the rafters....also juke box. We danced til we dropped.
Thank you for stirring up some pleasant memories for me.
:D

I worked in a club called Pacha in Spain (Near Barcelona) back in 1996. They were celebrating their 30th Anniversary back then.
They opened their doors in 1966 and they are still open. Remarkable (sp).
The Pacha in Ibiza has been around since 1969 I think.

The all time favorite hole in the wall Club will allway's be "The Factory" on madison street, west side of chicago.
Now, in the beginning it was an all rite Club to go to Before the Criminal Element sat in and Prety much ruin it for everyone.

Classic Adult Stepping!!!
Very Elegant for a night club, one of the few club's on the west side that had Class!
But same as before, that Criminal Element came thru and wreck it!
All the story's you heard was true. The Grenade, shoot out's, Killing's-Mugging's, etc.
As far as the Factory is concern..
It was the 2-Bellow Disco ( my mom still have pic's of the old place ) They had a Big Mural on the side of the building they Copy from the Cocomotion Album Cover with that Lady in Bell-bottom's on it.
It was realy an all Disco Night Club.
Same as before, the Criminal Element came in and that was that.
We have lost a lot of club's in chicago from that drama.

Does anyone remember Club Neo on Clark just south of Hi-Fi?
It's been open since the late 70's and is amazingly still kicking, Derrique 'Maestro' Cartier and crew did some nights there in the early 90's but it's a straight goth spot nowadays, I still drop through occasionally though if I'm loaded to leer at the vampires and bug out to KMFDM etc.....
;)

;) Used to fall through there a lot many, many years ago. It was straight new wave music at the time. Didn't realize it was still open. Wow.
