First impressions
Very quick to install!
Less than 1/2 an hour to install activate and register
It picked up my sound card, akai and midi keyboard automaticly
It opens all my old cubase sx3 projects no problems
It even found all the VST instruments I had uninstalled and marked them as missing in my sx3 project files
so far seems stable
Halion one seems cool as does groove agent
more too come over the next few days weeks
(yes I am excited LOL)

the MPC unit is by far my favorite new addition. The ability to route thru seperate channels/bus outputs is sick. Also I've gotten to play with beat masher a bunch, and have composed some tunes with it already. The vocal/audio warp feature is very powerful..similar to melodyne. Cubase 5 gets a 9/10 from me.

indeed the groove agent one mpc style drum pads are great especially when used with the recycle style slicing tool mapping the one shots onto the pads, the beat designer is also cool used with it. some nice swing settings there too.
most impressed by the reverence reverb that is wicked!
lots more to try out yet.

Blackwax - how does the groove agent one in C5 compare to using Guru in cubase?

I prefer it to guru although I was not a big guru user
it has very good swing settings and as mentioned above you gut put each pad out to a seperate channel very handy indeed
Dont think i will ever use guru again now i have this!

I'm having problem with Cubase studio 5. It doesn't find the patches for the halion. I've tried to re-install, copy and pasted the files on to my Mac hard drive, and still no instruments. I even right clicked on the instrument to locate content and still no sounds...:conf44:

Hey Steve.
This happens to me too. Im still on CB4. I don't know why it happens and it been happening frequently.
I would think that its because of my available free space on my HD. Not sure.
Good luck!
