Awright DHP IT peeps,
I had my sound card disabled last year by the lovely IT department here at my job. Now, I can not listen to the sweet sounds of DHP djs! mad1.gif
My question: How do I ENABLE it again?
Your help in this matter would truly be appreciated! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

- what operating system are you on? (win9x, Win2k, NT, XP?)
If you are in an environment where your rights to run certain software or use certain hardware are based on network/desktop policies (which typically go in effect when you log on to your pc and are based on your user ID and the group(s) you belong to), then you might be out of luck.
I don't know what you are running. If you have Windows 2000
Try...
select Start
select Settings
select Control Panel
select Sound and Multimedia
select the Hardware tab
select your sound card device (for me it's Creative SB Live)
select Properties
In the window that comes up, you should see an indicator telling whether the device is enabled or disabled. You can try to change it.

I'm just gonna have to sleep with that fat IT girl with the mustache to get back my access to audio. graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

The beauty of secured work machines. you're essentially locked out of that area by a policy.
aka you're outta luck.
I can't believe they even run Win98 in a work environment, UGHHHHHHHH.... graemlins/nono.gif
