I just got round to reading this. It's superb, and written by a fine example of a journalist - John Osselaer.
Derrick May interview. (http://technotourist.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Sections&file=index&req=viewarticle&artid=29)
this is why i will not miss this weekend, baby...
"The problem was that there were so few of us, almost like Jedi Knights. We had no other choice to fight the alliance of bad music. And we are still fighting the alliance of bad music. We are doing the best we can. Hey man, we're fighting it baby; we're fighting it."

perhaps an internet-based petition might put pressure on Renaat of R&S to let Derrick out of his contract... then he can release some more magic - finally!
we need another techno thread up here on the DHP, I've lost count of the artists & music that have been slept on by the dance community...
peace - RMR

peace - RMR Too right. It's interesting as Derrick seems to be stressing the links between techno as he sees it and house - all that "Detroit would be nothing without Chicago" business. He seems pretty chuffed to be finally getting to play with Louie Vega, too.
As ever, there's a fair bit of self aggrandisement in this interview, but John really got to some interesting points. Here's hoping it all gets sorted with R&S sooner rather than later, if that's the deal.

My opinion is that Derrick May always brings up new excuses, just to hide that he's got a lack of inspiration. I mean, he haven't released a record in ten years (besides that Ghost in the shell track) and now he's coming with that story!
Drexciya have proved that they are the new leaders of techno.
James Stinson RIP
(Rickey, what is Drexciya??!! Where have you been!!)

didn't Kenny Larkin start a stand up comedy career a year or two ago? I am sure he did, but not sure how he went.
Miss RickyX, Mr May is driving a Ferrari, I would say money isn't an issue...

"You've got these Paul Oakenfold and Sasha people that are to me the commercial idiots of the business."
