Guys i noticed the mixer i have - vestax pmc 17a can be fitted with rotary knobs in place of the faders!
Has anyone used such a thing before as i was thinking about replacing 2 of my faders with the rotarys.
They are a little iffy anyways and i havent got the cash to buy a new mixer just now as im gonna buy a whopping great beast of a thing when i can afford it.
If anyone has heard of the pmc17a with rotarys or has used one then i would like to hear about it!!

Also, have you used rotaries before? Is it a "feel" thing that's leading you to mull getting the rotary kit? I'm just thinking of other posts that have said the incremental changes in volume can be a bit spotty with Vestax (i.e. no volume until the 1.5-2 mark, then blasting from 3 up to 8, then nothing up to 10, or whatever it was), but I have found it to be a nice smooth slide.
However, others apparently haven't, so you may want to keep that in mind if you're aiming for smoother mixes.

I have not had much problems with volumes and tones with my vestax and i think it is an ok mixer.
i think sometimes it takes you to try a few different pieces of equipment before you notice any difference in quality.Although i am happy with the mixer when it isnt crackling( dirty old faders)i would as i said before like to try the rotarys in my mixer and get afeel for them to see if i like the whole rotary thing!
The controls for my mixer are £20 each roughly as i just need to pull my fader out and replace that part so it isnt that expensive for me really! smile.gif
Here is a link to the piece i would get!

I bought my pmc17a used on ebay. The knobs were already in place when I received the mixer and they work nicely. The mixer itself was'nt the greatest when it came to sound output. Most recently I started experiencing static from the headphone jack. Let me just repeat that the mixer was purchased used.

Go for it, then--60 quid is a great price to fix your channel static AND convert your mixer to rotary (you are getting them for all three channels, aren't you)? Just watch your fingernails on those screw heads...OUCH!!
