Me and my wife are planning to go to Barcelona next month to attend the sonar festival; if you are from the area, can you tell us where to go for recordshopping and cheap accomadation?

I live in London, but regularly go to Barca for long weekends. For cheap accommodation try www.intercom.es/grau (http://http://www.hostalgrau.com/)

I have stayed here each time I have been in Barca and it is very reasonably priced and central, its is near the Ramblas.

Stay in Sitges by the beach 25 minutes on the train to the centre of barcelona. The ramblas is a shithole with too many begging junkies and drunks.

As for the tapas if you eat near the ramblas you will pay top dollar for crap.

The best tapas bar is beside the Sants railway station run by a 4 cuban girls who let you put on your own music, its at vallespir 19.
