For real, I love the HELL out Diamond Life. For me it's the new Days Like This.

But what I want to know is what happened to Distance's website? It used to be www.distancemusic.com (http://www.distancemusic.com) and it's not there anymore. I was tryin to look something up on it.

Anyone know?

i'm still not feelin that cut
although the dub on the flip is a nice version of the original
I just think not a lot of thought went into it
i have another remix of diamond life (remixed by liquid people) that does the song much more justice

I like the original version, but the 'can you feel it'-remix is an utter travesty.

I believe that is called jumping to conclusions, also known as Bush-syndrome :D
how's about pleasing the ladies AND the male dj's?

all i know that shit had everyone dancing at the large records party , women and men alike..it sounded slamming. You just got to go with what the crowd feels. i wasnt feeling it at first but once i heard it at the club it was BANGING!

Well, I respectfully disagree, kinda. I will never play, let alone buy a record just because the crowd feels it, I will play for the crowd within the boundaries of the records I like.
It's a subtle difference, but it's a difference.

As a DJ who plays out, i learned you need to play for the crowd. I have tons of records i didnt feel but the crowd did and you want the crowd to come back right??!! i thought that was one of the logical rules when djing, you play for the crowd.i dont mean going from being a house dj to playing trance records, but all in the same genre.

If you read my post again Doug you will see that I do play for the crowd (a dj indeed always should), but within the records I like.
An example? If it's a 100% deep house crowd I will play lots of obscure stuff, if it's a crowd that just wants to party and doesn't care about artist A or B I play Inner City, Soul II Soul, Ashford&Simpson, etc. I think you know what I mean.
The reality is usually in between. In 99% of the cases people asking me to play are people that wanna hear my style of dj'ing, so no problems there. If I'm asked to be a jukebox at some wedding I will respectfully decline, simple ain't it?

I ignored the whining going on about this remix and got it anyway. Played it Friday at the RELAX party and they LOST IT!!! Any DJ that doesn't play for the ladies is jerking himself off musically. Feel free to use that one......JMJ biggrinangel.gif
