I have the George Benson doozy...(love it)
then I know Greneque (sp) did it...
who else has done this classic? and what's your fave version of it...

HeatWave did the first version.Very dope.I love the intro on the Heatwave version.

absolute gem of a song. the Heatwave/Temperton original of course. one of my faves to end a good night with.

One of my favorite alltime songs. Actally, Give Me The Night is one of my alltime favorite albums.
Everything about Star is classic, from the spacey fender rhodes, the MusicMan bass sound (Abe Laboriel) to the ending (the male scats). Quincy did some work with this song. Peace

I got to end the night once with the George Benson version. I didn't play, of course, but I brought it with me to the club and they let me put it on because I had to hear it with club sound. Love that record.
