I'm at a thrift store over the weekend. I never thought to flip through their records. People get rid of stuff not knowing what they have. Why did I find a 12" of Glad to Know You (C. Jankel) and a 12" remix of In the Name of Love (Thompson Twins) for TWENTY CENTS EACH. You heard me..20cents.
Sounds like we need to go shopping....JMJ biggrinangel.gif

I once found a copy of Faze-O's first album with "Riding High" on it for 25 cents in this thrift store in a strip mall in Pennsylvania. They had a huge store and only one half-full crate of vinyl. At the time I had been looking for that record for about 5 years. I was like "ohhhhhhhhh shit!"
I made a similar find with the Chakachas album that I found in some dollar bin somehwere in Bed Stuy.

This so funny, only yesterday, I was passing by my local pawn shops and decided to go into one that was going out of business and of course saw a crate of records. So I start shifting through a bunch of crap and lo' and behold sitting there is a 12" of Native New Yorker by Odessy, for $2. I was very happy indeed :D

That Odyssey 12" is great - I also fluked it out for about a buck, which helps compensate for the $60 I paid for Let Me Down Easy by Rare Pleasure.

My two most lucky shots were Mike Dunn's "Let It Be House" in between Abba and Boney M for $2, Abba recs were $10 at least...I had been bidding on the Mike Dunn one earlier that week up to $40 and didn't get it...
Another one was Juan Atkins first album on Fantasy with 'Clear' and 'Cosmic Cars' on it, the very last record in a stack of at least 500 crappy rock and blues stuff, $0.50 a pop.
