View Full Version : How Fast Are You Downloading???
Take the test and CLICK HERE. (http://webservices.cnet.com/Bandwidth/)
Not very fast: 22kbps.... :( I'm waiting for SBC Yahoo to expand their DSL service. There's only one carrier in my area currently, and they're way too expensive. I'm on SBC's waiting list for now......JMJ

I'm currently using my brother's computer at my mother's home in Georgia: He is getting 505kbps.
However, if I use the Speed Test (http://www.dslreports.com/stest) tool at DSLReports.com, the speed is 699kbps.
At my home when I use the DSLReports test, I usually get around 1100 - 1200 kbps (I'm only about 1500 feet from a CO).

I'm on the LAN at work so I just clocked at 1617 kbps. After getting accustomed to that blazing speed it makes it real hard to go home and play on the dial-up. That's why I don't do much surfing or downloading at home.

The terminal didn't display graphics, was black and white only, and we thought we were advanced technically speaking by being able to connect remotely: And we also used floppy drives that took 8 inch discs!!!! icon_rofl.gif

I'm glad that they've developed a way to drag and drop to CDs. WHen that techology becomes more advanved, I'm throwing away all my floppies!!
