I went and walked down state street. Went in Filene's Basement. They had Diesel Jeans for $50.00, so I had to get a pair. Went Popeyes on Wabash got a Po Boy sandwich. I just missed the rain.

I used to work on Washington and State. Used to hit the basement all the time. And Crystals sneaker shop. Miss beantown.
At lunch I went to bank and paid car payment, went to house, grilled a burger in the hot sun and listened to an archive of Norman Jay wheeling it out at the Notting Hill carnival.
BTW - does anyone care? I doubt it.

I just realized you meant Chicago. We don't have Popeye's or Wabash.
But you have Filene's? Weird.

I too walked to Filiene's, but in NYC. I was looking at their 50% & 75% sales. Then stopped off at Barnes & Nobles to price "The Pact" on paperback.

Worked right through it. I got my exit interview on Wednesday to determine if CPS wants to keep me or drop my position.
Not really hungry right now...

Unless I am picking up the current month's book selection for my book club there are months I can't even walk down the same street because within 5 minutes I can have up to 3 books in my hand that I would buy and that's before I decide what section I want to browse that day. Borders kills me everytime with their "New In Paperback" display. Economic lockdown is a mutha!

Coliseum Books is back in midtown, I have to check out their new location - with a cafe no less - on day....

I had lunch with an old classmate & her coworker.
I told them to get the new Black Enterprise, which features a guy I grew up with on the cover. His name is Steve Mills & he is President of Madison Square Garden Sports Teams Operations. We talked about his being in consideration for NBA Commish.
