View Full Version : I LOST MY JOB TODAY!!

JMJ
12-15-2003, 04:06 PM
I just got fired. Somebody offered to do my job for less money, and the stupid fucking lowlife asshole that owns the dealership fell for it. Motherfucker couldn't even look me in the eye! Couldn't even come up with a good excuse as to why he was "letting me go".... Fuck you and your stupid drunk ass!!! <-----That was my initial reply. He continued to experience the wrath of JMJ as I called him an idiot, the stupidest man in the car business, dumb motherfucker, a moron, dickless wonder, then told him to fuck himself repeatedly until he left my office, threw my door keys and demo keys at him as he scurried for safety, and continued to berate him until he left the building. He also made the mistake of asking me if I needed a ride home. I told him I would walk barefoot thru broken glass than accept anything from his stupid ass. I walked home, about a 6 mile walk, and while it was pretty cold, it gave me time to try and figure out what had just happened and why. I've never been fired before in this business, I'm very good at what I do, so why did this happen to me?? If it were because of something I did, I would understand that. Just thought I'd put this out there, if nothing else, just to blow off some steam. I don't need or want sympathy. I don't need to hear that "everything happens for a reason" bullshit either. This happened for NO good reason, and at the worst possible time. I got fucked, plain and simple. For those of you that have called me at work, I'm not there, so don't call. I'm feeling nothing but anger, hate, betrayal, lack of trust, and I'd like nothing but awful things to happen to this man and his business. Fuck him, and fuck anybody that gets any pleasure from reading this. This is truly one of the worst days of my life, so feel lucky that I shared part of it with you. I have spoken.......JMJ graemlins/cussing.gif

Thanks, but please save the sympathy. I posted strictly out of anger, and I only hope that something like this doesn't happen to you or anybody you know. Firing without just cause is complete bullshit!! Had NOTHING to do with job performance and everything to do with money. Fuck that stupid neurotic drunk!!!.......JMJ

I was just promoted to primary AND secondary finance director less than a month ago to get fucked like this??? All because someone will assume the same position for less. Notice I didn't say "do the same job", because that's not going to happen. Got axed by a stupid, brainless, drunk piece of shit with no business sense at all. I'm in complete shock over this, so I have no idea what my next move will be. Definitely the wrong time of year for this to happen.......JMJ

You know JMJ, we have our differences from time to time, but after reading this, I know exactly how you feel....sh8 like this happened to me about 9 years ago...I was working in a restaurant and was the sautee, grill and fry station cook....I was very good at it....bear with me, there is somewhat of a morale to this....

so, the reason this lizard neck, pencil deck, swivelled up muufucker(the majority owner out of four) got rid of me is because he brought a chef in, who just happen to be a longtime friend of his, and he wanted him to be the executive chef....now this was suppose to be a Manhattan 2 star(wanna be 3 star) restaurant that made there own beer...one of the first in the city....and we were doing very well in the creations of menus and the running of the kitchen operations...the one thing he never told us is this old fart only experience was in a diner and didn't know sh8 about running a fast pace Manhattan restaurant....

bear with me.....so, one saturday nite when the restaurant was hopping(over 500 plates a nite), this guy froze, got frustrated and lost it...at which time the rest of the kitchen staff(us), decided we had to take control, and we brought it to the attention of the other owners...ok, maybe I was a little louder than the rest...bottomline he(the chef) was embarassed and the other partners went to the majority owner to get rid of him...he said ok, if they agree to one thing....you got it, I had to go....not because of my work ethic, just because I showed up his non-chef friend as a farce....

The day they called me in, they couldn't even give me a decent excuse, couldn't even look me in the eye, then they broke down and told me the truth...I flipped, I call them every name in the book and even was stalking out the place looking for an opportunity to jump this old wrinkle neck bastard(who happen to be racist, but that didn't play any role in this situation...at least, I didn't want to think that).

This was also the first(and only time) I got fired....I got mad, then embarassed, then determined when I came to the realization I did nothing wrong....hell, they told me so!

the morale: it changed my life and the way I was living it...I made it a point to always be in control of whatever career I choose....I went from just getting jobs, to seeking out a career...especially one that was based on merit and what I did, this way I could always have documentation just in case I had to sue these bastards....

I don't know if my story helped, but let that angry ride, let it overtake your entire being, because it will show you the way and direction to take with your career path....hell, maybe it's the push you need to go do what you always wanted to do....ok, that last part was a little cheesy... :D

Good luck....

There is a HUUUGGGGEEE market for that in Southern California. New and used car brokering is serious business, especially out here where the weather helps cars last a long time. I have two friends who used the services of one - you could even get paid comin' AND goin' by taking brokerage fees from consumers and comissions from dealers.

Great thinkin', man!

graemlins/jpshakehead.gif Total bullshit. Okay, let this be that last time your livelyhood is dependant upon another if possible. There is a way to make money with all that inside knowledge. Self publish a book that blows the industry wide open. Hell if some of these so called "authors" can sell their garbage, your book of true knowledge should do quite well. Don't worry if this new cheaper labor don't screw his world up, his lever will.

JMJ, I'm not worried at all about you. You will land another spot that you are satisfied with in due time. Just from the energy I get from your input on this board, you seem not like a follower, rather a go-getter.

It's his LOSS!!!!

(BTW, that guy's a real-azz for doing it at this time of year. Atleast wait til the holidays are over!).

I'm down with that calling-in thing. But we should not do it all-at-once. A couple every day for the next YEAR!!!!!!!!!.

Just give me the number, and your full name (and possibly the person I should be speaking to). I'm dead serious.

What an old Scrooge...

"External heat and cold had little influence on Scrooge. No warmth could warm, no wintry weather chill him. No wind that blew was bitterer than he, no falling snow was more intent upon its purpose, no pelting rain less open to entreaty." - Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol.

Funny how somethings stay the same over the years..

You know im not into that "Things will work themself out" bullshit because I live in a make it happen world. You know your +'s and I hope you get back into an occupation that your +'s work in your favor.

He will get his without a doubt because, what goes around comes around really quick. Earlier this week my supervisor talked with a co-worker & I - saying "we are under the microscope and we have a week to pick up the pace or the slowest one will be fired".

It was a Kodak moment for me because once he was done with the old "25 people are inline for your job" bit...then asked Ty & I, "Have any comments?" I said "yea...you can hire someone new to work with Ty because I am going back active duty and the 23rd will be my last day"...with a big ass smile on my face to boot!

Now all of a sudden we are no longer bitched at about our time. I did a no call no show and the only reason I went to work yesterday is - he called the house asking if I were comming in because I was already 15 minutes late.

Every dog has their day and you will have yours, watch & see.

Fuck that stupid neurotic drunk!!!.......JMJ Now, you may not want to hear this, and yes, everything happens for a reason. But you know at this time of the season folk are being fired for no reason and it is sickening. It's all about meeting 4th quarter goals to start the new year off right so next year this time folk will have more money in their pocket. Go apply at the car manufacturer, GM will be hiring in January for the regional sales Division (so I hear ;) )

Now, get your Amish friends put on black (which they already wear), go back to the job one night this week, wait outside by his car and hit his car with hard horse crap! Just kidding, I hope you feel better.

As you have heard so many times so far,we all know you are a very smart person that doesen't hold back when he wants to say or do something. I also think it is their loss and they will realize that very soon. Like you said, the pussy couldn't look you in the eye when he made that stoopid move. At the very least he could have given you a reason for this. FU*K HIM! mad1.gif

Man, I would be starting a car financing insider's website with the quickness! You could be packin' in dollars from all over with the knowledge you have. You could make that your part time and music your full-time.

You could get a blog going...a discussion board (small scaled) so that people could gain your advice first hand. A few car companies would get hip after a while and sponsor it...ad revenues...an advice column...inexpensive automotive news feeds from the news wires...your take on the state of the industry, trends...

WTF??? Sorry to hear this news, J. Have you thought about going to the competition? You'll be ok and I know it's not the best time of year for this kind of thing to happen, but I know things will pick up for the better. Yes, it's hard to maintain composure and be focused on what should be the next step, but seriously let it slide and move on. It's their loss NOT yours. If they are willing to let a good employee go because they can save a few bucks then it's not worth staying in a company like that. Just take it easy and I guarantee things will pick up for you. I had one of the worst weeks last week and things mysteriously turned for the better--100% better. Seriously, if you need any help, let me know. Take care and have a few cold ones.

Peace,

If your description of your boss is acurate and not just your anger speaking, sounds like you needed to leave anyway. And yes, everything does happen for a reason. You're a finance officer, you can get a job anywhere.

Give yourself a few days to cool off, then get out there again. If you need resume help, PM me.

Give yourself a few days to cool off, then get out there again. If you need resume help, PM me. You're on point about me needing to leave. It's wasn't just anger speaking, as this idiot has no clue how to run a business. He fired his GM in January to save money (again), and it's been downhill since because he's never had to run the show himself. The funny part would be when he would ask why business was down, then disagree with me when I told him the truth. He was in complete denial and being a fucking drunk added to the problem. He claimed that I was one of only two people he trusted, but he really didn't trust anybody, and was afraid of his own money, meaning afraid to spend it on anything but him, because he wouldn't know how to make it back if he lost it. I was looking to get out of there in the spring, (when the right jobs are usually available) so this was the worst possible time for this to happen. I may take you up on the resume help. Thanks.......JMJ

I love beef chow foon!!! It is GOOD beef (not that soft rubbery stuff), pan-fried rice noodles, some sort of soy gravy (not think at all), peapods, beansprouts, onions all mixed together. Alot of places don't have it on the menu because the beef and noodles are different than what is used in most Oriental dishes (and more expensive). In most cases you have to request it, although I found a place locally that has it on the menu. It's incredible, even for those that aren't into "regular" Chinese food.......JMJ graemlins/grinyes.gif

my man.. run.. don't walk to the unemployment office.. get your check then find yourself a part time job on the side-under the table.... start your own shit if you have "always wanted to do".. this could be a good thing... it was for me..

but then again, I walked into my boisses office and asked him to let me go... then told him that he can get someone to do my job for half the price..

Fuck him. You dont want to work for someone who will do that to you anyway. With a boss like that, you were bound to get fired sooner or later. Weak fuck has no honor.

Thanks to everybody for the kind words and support. Like I said initially, pity wasn't and isn't my goal. I was pissed (rightfully so) and needed to vent. Thanks again.....JMJ hail.gif

Hey man... I really wish you well in your situation. I've been hired, fired, employed, unemployed, and underemployed before so I can sympathize with you. As much of a cliche as this sounds... It will definately help if you try to remain as positive as possible under the circumstatances and keep focused on getting back on your feet. You know your talents and strengths so use them to your advantage! Also, be glad that you have a lifelong passion (MUZIK) to help get you through the rought times. I know that when I was outta work for several months, the muzik saved my life. I think that I became a better DJ as a result of the lay off because the muzik played an even greater part in my sanity. God Bless Bro!!!

J, sorry to hear about the gig.
A couple of things that come to mind are...
One thing my mother told me when I was young, it took me 20 years to understand it.
"I cried because I had no shoes, until I met a man that had no feet".
You've gotta think about all the good things you have going for you, and stay positive.
Also, don't think of yourself as just a finance officer, think of yourself as a savy business professional. The skills that you gained can be transferred to many careers. It's up to you to find the one that fits you.
Several years ago I was "laid-off" for the first time in my life, and my good friend and mechanic told me that I would look back at it in time as a small setback. At the time it felt like a huge valley, because I was smack in the middle of it. But I climbed out, and have been in even bigger valleys, as well as bigger peeks.
Life is about frequencies and cycles.
Sometimes you have to take a step back, look at where you've been, and where you want to go.

-e.
