Bootlegs of bootlegs?
You mean Garage Classics 8 & 9 are boots of previous releases in that series? Can't be, can it?
I only have got Vol. 4 with Ramona Brooks and Hugh Masekela on it...

Gerd

No Garage series 8 & 9 aren't bootlegs of bootlegs. They're taken from songs actually played at the Paradise Garage back in the day. Loft Classics is another collection taken from dance classics played at David Mancuso's "The Loft". Mancuso actually has an official Loft collection out also, so you don't have to get the bootlegs.
Thanks DJ marbII, but do you know what tracks are featured on Vol. 8 and 9 of the Garage Classics?
I really would like to know...
Peace,
Gerd
Gerd, I don't know if it's on 8 or 9, but one of these late volumes features "I Need You" by Sylvester, not the original but a sort of edit, maybe.

According to Groovetech, 8 is I Need You, Lowdown, and Put the Music
They don't have 9. I don't have any of them because the sound quality sucks... but you probably already knew that.

the quality is not that bad. i bought vol 8 for Lowdown, which, afaik, is only available on LP
I do know "I need You" and "Put The Music", but what is "Lowdown"?
Peace,
Gerd

Actually the sound quality on eight was pretty good, particularly the Sylvester track. Volume 9 is on it's way this week :-
1. "Give It Up"
2. "I Got It"
3. "Journey To The Light"
Having said that some of the pressings have pretty poor, "Home Is Where The Hatred Is", "House Party" etc. spring to mind.

I presume Lowdown is Boz Scaggs.
