I'm thinking about gettinga CD player and wondered what you guys though of these models. Which would you suggest? Or should I just go the cheap route and get a CDJ-100? I am not interested in rack mounted players, only tabletop.
You may be able to get a CDJ 1000 at a much lower price now that the CDJ 1000 MK2 is on the market.....JMJ

The DNS 5000 is two cd players in one. You can play a CD and pop it out with about 30 seconds of memory pop in the new Cd and mix it out of the other stereo outs. It has 2 stereo outs.

if you want to scratch and/or you definately need/want a large 12" style platter: CDJ800 or if budget permits CDJ1000 mk2 .. otherwise CDJ100 is very nice and much cheaper..

I´m thinking about buying the CDJ100. It has everything I need and nothing more. And also because I´ve been told that they last longer than the other models (I´m not sure about that though)

Go with the CDJ100 if you are just blendin' songs. I got it. If you are doing more, the CDJ1000 is fine. Not familiar with the Denon, though I have heard good things.

Word.
This thing is a technological marvel. Gatling got a pair a few monts ago and they are SICK. They have a spinning platter and a slipmat. You can scratch your brains out and the needle will never skip...because there is no needle, silly!!
I think that the loop feature doesn't allow as much room for error as Pioneer's loop feature, but this is very negligable, considering what you get for your money; on-board effects, downloadable patches/upgrades... it's really insane.

I bought 2 CDJ 100's in 1997, I have yet to have a single problem out of either unit. V-Rod spilled beer on them once, one channel of the mixer went out but, it had no effect to this day on the CD Players.

Other than a want for more effects and looping, this is the best unit I ever used...the CD Player that got me away from Vinyl after using it only one time - in the store & not at a club.
The Denon's virtual vinyl platter is belt driven. Imagine your belt going out on you at a gig. Spend the extra couple bucks and go with the 1000. As a cdj-1000 owner I have nothing but good things to say about it.

http://www.animallshops.com/cdj1000.jpg The big model is discontinued.I have the smaller one.
i prefer the cdj 800. give it a look. it's a little smaller than the 1000 with much of the same functionality. depends on what you want do. do you want to just spin cd's or do you want to do all sorts of tricks and stuff. that should influence your decision too.
