Some great tracks !! It's immaterial, Mandy Smith, Code 61 and The Woodentops were all favourites of mine.

I wonder if any club in Ibiza still plays such a broad range of good music ? Somehow I doubt it :( . Is Alfredo still there ?

I think Alfredo is still there...but I think he plays house stuff these days.

I'm doing a weekly balearic Saturday night in London starting early July though if you want to hear some of these tracks LOUD.

Jolyon,
I'm listening now. Very interesting stuff. Flows kinda nicely. These tunes are a world apart from what I usually listen to... ;) However, I'm always looking to sample different musical flavors. My ears are very receptive to these new sounds. Funny thing though, some of the tunes are reminiscent of music I would hear during the closing credits of 1980s movies... Maybe I'm just trippin'! graemlins/stupid.gif LOL! Thanks for sharing. I think I'm gonna download these mixes. smile.gif

Peace,
HML

Thanks HML. I wondered what Americans would make of these mixes...many of these records were big club records in the UK/Ibiza in the late 80s - mixed up with house/acid.

Thankx for these mixes, it's near impossible to actually get tapes of Alfredo himself before 1992 - always love to hear these tunes, good 2 know others are into the real sound of Ibiza.

The songs in your balearic sets definitely appeal to my more eclectic tastes! I enjoyed the vibe of your mixes very much. Proof that you never know if you'll like something until you try it! Thanks for opening my eyes (and ears) to a style of music that's new to me... smile.gif

please check your PM later ;) Yes! Got this somewhere. I used to play Sowing The Seeds Of Love a lot too (Johnny Panic was on the B Side to that 12")

Played the 'What I Am' booty at a gig on Wednesday night.

King - Love it...the Body & Soul mix is the one I played...not sure how different it is to the Summer Mix.

Fluke - Don't know that one but loved Joni at the time - never got around to buying that one on vinyl.
