It's a hot summer night of 1989 and I can't decide whether to wear my Girbaud BRAND X or faded overalls out to the party tonight. I picked up a couple of new pieces at the MFG store on Wells street with Mom's credit card (she's gonna kick my ass). I tried to find more down in Je..uh, I mean, Maxwell Street but couldn't find none.
Me and J will be at the Reactor about 11. DJ Rush goes on at Midnight and I don't wanna miss one disco EDIT!!

Now, that was fabulous....
but do you remember that hot friday night in the summer of 1990, when the Reactor was raided by Police and I was meeting J & you at the clid-dub... I showed up with an XL Giordano's thin crust in one hand and my dancing shoes in the other. Everybody was outside pissed and hot like a duck on a june bug. Not too many months after, the Reactor closed down.
It was a sad, sad, Friday night. graemlins/mecry.gif

It was a truly sad night. I was ready to get my disco on too!
A couple of years ago I went to a friend of mine's house for dinner. He told me he lived on West Lake Street. I didn't think anything of it. When I rolled up to the building I was like OH MY GAWD. I ran upstairs and couln't believe that my friend was LIVING IN THE REACTOR! (the building is now loft apartments) I was like "dude, do you know where you live?! You live in history!" He told me "You know, you're the 3rd person who's told me that this place used to be a club..."
He had no idea. Funny how things come full circle.
