Whew! Talk about groovalishious! Has anyone heard any of the stuff coming from Naked Music and Astralwerks?
Naked Music is "sexy, modern soul that grooves with an enticing bump."
Oh my God! This is juicy, sexy, groovy, orgasmic, yum, yum. But, knowing the crew on this board, I'm not telling you anything new.
On the Blue Six CD called Beautiful Tomorrow, my favs are "Music and Wine" and "Sweeter Love." I think of Shalewa and her classes (children) everytime I hear the Blue Six CD.
Go to www.naked-music.com (http://www.naked-music.com) and www.astralwerks.com. (http://www.astralwerks.com.)

Some people on the board seem to be split on Naked Music. A few feel it is too commercial and the sound is "soft" or "faux-house." Personally, I can dig it, especially their earlier output. After a while, though, they started repeating the same formula which got them attention in the first place. Just my opinion ....

Very Good Friends off of the Beautiful Tommorrow CD can literaly puts a chill up my spine. I love the lyrics to that song.
I am an unapologetic fan of Jay Denes and his many incarnations, I like the vibe and yea it can all sound alike but sometimes that's what you want from certain artists and he always delivers for me.

I'm a big fan of naked music...loved the earlier comps especially the Nude Dimensions but my fave has to be Aquanotes "Pearl"....there are hidden gems on almost all of their projects...jmo

IMO, Naked Music is one of the best dance labels around. They release quality cuts 98% of the time, and they usually put different mixes on each single to suit just about everybody's vibe. (I won't even go into the creativity that goes into the record covers...)
I'm probably biased as a Miguel Migs fan, but of all his releases, it seems that he saves his hottest tracks for Naked.
I'm waiting for that Lisa Shaw solo joint too...
p.s. whoever that was that asked about "soulmate", it is available on Naked, and the artist is Summerland.

funny thing is that i gave "Beautiful Tomorrow", a candle and a greeting card that tied the 2 together as a birthday gift to a casual lady friend of mine (a none house fan) and scored mucho points. now she is hooked on that CD and is more open to other soulful house sounds. too bad she is not hooked on me (yet) ;)

but i agree that "Beautiful Tomorrow" is a great LP and has some stuff on there, like "Very Good Friends" that was never on 12"

they are the hot bunch of the
moment, but that doesn't
mean their stuff ain't dope.
however if i do one more gig
and the 56th person comes up and
asks for more naked music, i swear
i'm going upside their heads!!!

i like the older sound too, but to me it has a kind of quality... like songs that remind you of a certain summer or something. you can't play too much of it or it's like an overload and it gets played out. but when it's hot and you're by the pool, it's so perfect and it totally brings you back.
