Dunkle Technik Present Cadenza
@ Stylus, Leeds 10pm Tickets £12 / MOTD October 25th
Reboot (Live) | Mirko Loko | Alex Picone | Dahlstrom | Gashy Eddie | Regan
-------------------------
For the first time ever Cadenza Records are coming to Leeds on October 25th for an underground session like no other.
Luciano’s Cadenza is one of electronic music’s leading labels with its own, distinctive sound. From fluttery, percussive house to vocal scattered techno it’s music as released by tonight’s guests, and it’s music to get you dancing.
Reboot, aka Frankfurt musician Frank Heinrich, headlines and performs live tonight. He was at the spearhead of the deep revival when it came, and in cahoots with a selection of musician’s from his home town, was the first to tread a path down which most producers now go. Reboot lets his emotive grooves do the taking through releases on many top labels.
Next up, Mirko Loko, who melds bubbly tribal drums with subtly emerging melodies, shy strings and drowsy, melancholic bell patterns into a house and techno tapestry to really get lost in: Exactly the sort of involved sounds Cadenza are known for, and why they are so widely lauded.
The final Cadenza comrade on show tonight is Alex Picone, an Italian with as much emotive minimal flair as the rest of the label. Dahlstrom, Gashy Eddie and Regan also get in on the showcase. The amphitheatre type innards of Stylus will make for a perfect cauldron in which potions of electronic magic can be brewed by some of 2009’s best acts. Don’t miss out.
