I'm almost excited

just finished installing the outboard gear on the sound system..Rane MP/XP, CDJ1000's, Technics...and mad EAWs around the room

i am damned tired

and there is still some finishing carpentry to be done...we won't look our best for another 2 weeks (good thing the lights are low)

A little over a year ago I stated online that I would open a room within 6 years and a little over a year later here i am....My key reason for making said statement is that it was something i have ALWAYS wanted to do and thought that I could do. My feeling to conquer this summit now was engendered by a pair of dwarves who had the audacity to state that my time was over (every knock is a boost) - like Belushi stated "Over?!...Nothing is over til we decide it is!"...and at that point I decided to align myself with people with similiar goals....and was labelled a "sellout"...I put an open call out for peeps who wanted to get down and outside of encouragement from Wild I (thanx) i was met with mostly silence and accusations of shady business doings from my Choice records days (unfounded of course)

Now that the day is here i want to thank my detractors for making me even more determined to rub it in their faces...i am now and always will be tougher than you could ever imagine and completely contemptuous of you...

But on the flip side I want to really express my gratitude to those of you who have wished me well and expressed glad tidings....i'm an unusually hard person but i am really touched by your support of my "sellout"....This game is just that and I truly believe that sometimes you have to sacrifice a lot to get to where you want to be...I do love house but I'm no millionaire and this is NYC...if I want to get to a psoition in which I can make my own calls and do a more deep room I certainly would but as it is I have to face certain realities....many of you realize the sacrifice peeps make by "selling out " and I thank you for your support

I don't know if i will succeed or fail at this endeavor, but i damn sure am gonna try...and if i should fail it just means i have to try harder NEXT TIME..but if i succeed..oh boy!

i arrived at the club at 8:45 expecting to be breaking about the incompetence of our contractor who hadn't painted and done a lot of finishing carpentry...I walk up to the club and there was already a line of about 60 people and when I go inside I am competely shocked that the work has been done!!!!!....I mean theres still some shit to be done but you cant see it in the dark

We had a backdrop set up and at around 10 pm a lot of page 6 type stars show up for our main event which was a birthday bash for Keith Collins...very impressive with a press corps and photographers

Inside (downstairs) we conducted a KICKING ass party and the system and the room lookded and sounded good...MAD HONEYS...we set up our table ( veuve cliquot and absolut bottles in effect) and I broke out my noisemakers and it was ON...straight mackin til the sun came up

Also apologies to any who tried but couldn't get in - the room packed in early and due to the bamin nature of the party it stayed that way. After we reached capacity (400) we got really strict at the door and ended the comps
