Here it is again with all the talk of musical bliss and crying and weeping/sweaty hugs - well over here anyway ! .
I thought we all might reminisce again anf rekindle those memories right at the end . The DJ was playing serious all night and lets off the last record or two to give the floor one more round and we all pick up the last bit of momentum .
I have a few to start of the memoirs :

Numerous parties around late 88/89 in the U.K what warehouse/empty field/dungeeon-ahem could go a miss without hearing these now classic records .

The Nightwrighters - Let The Music Use You
Frankie Knuckles - Tears/Your Love - not the early Chi version .
The Beloved - Sun rising
William pitt - City Lights
Izit - Stories
Ce Ce Rogers - Someday
Sueno Latino
Strings of Life

Please note I am not trying to carry on my earlier thread of morning records this is the "Last record of the night" post ha ha..

Peace Alex . ;)

A lot of times I'll play " Don't leave me this way " by Thelma Houston. as my last song....Funny thing is there have been a few times when that song just kicked the party into a high gear again....!

Tears is another one...Also Dreaming by Loleatta Holloway ....." LAWD Take Me Now !!!" icon_rofl.gif

For the last song Alex, something slow and funky usually does the trick for me, it depends.

I like to make the last record of the night something slow, wet, funky and beautiful. My favorite "last" records of the moment are:
"Whatcha Gonna Do With My Lovin" by Inner City (Def Mix) and
"Happiness is Just Around the Bend" by the Main Ingredient

Nice one Jon,

Funny me and a friend were discussing the "Inner City track the other day" . glad to see your birthday went well . I was wondering was there a picture with the infamous Loose - dancer . I thought I caught a photo with him if so respects because that guy represents .

Peace Alex . ;) Hey Alex - yeah, that Inner City was just one of the most beautiful productions - such a beautiful way to end an evening. To answer your question, Loose did make it down last week - one of the BADDEST dancers in the game ... here's the pic - that's him on the left:

Hey Alex, I think the Derrick Lara "Don't Stop" has got to be one of the best closing records, I've ever hear. I'll tell you everyone in the place left with a smile on their face. smile.gif
This is probably why I bought 20 copies when I finally found it...hahahaha

I love to see people smiling and singing and shoutin' and hugging when they're getting that last bit of life on the dance floor. And when I'm out there dancin', strong meaningful vocal always make me lose it.

Say Dj Alex, In reference to your question, It's a little bit of both my man(Alot of the songs i listed earlier, I've heard cats(Dj's)end the night/Day with those songs either in spots or House parties through the years, I would like to add another song that goes along with the last song of the night for me that i remember from way back, 'That's when we'll be free' by State of Grace, A Very nice song from around 1983 or so.

Thanks for getting back on this one , It's always nice to read about music the older cats were dancing to ! . By the way did you read the tracklisting for Mr Humphries forthcoming album Choice coming out on Azuli u.k . I kinda like the diversity of Mr Homefries selection , would do you think .
And why we are on the topic any great last morning records from the Zanzibar in your memory banks ? .
