was mad funny and an ole fashioned type swashbuckler. Lots of violence but very bloodless and the special effects were great. Johnny Depp was funny as a mother****

the movie was a pleasant surprise....i think the last attempt by hollywood in this genre was a complete bomb..not this time...good story, superb special effects, action, romance AND humour....the major studio machine rarely puts it all together well, these days. This flick was well worth the time...it ran a little over 2 hours and i didnt even notice the time...this should do a HUGE DVD market around xmas

I don't think they should. This will definitely be a classic movie without sequels to mess it
up.

Great movie! Loved the special effects and Johnny Depp was great. Apparently he based his character on Keith Richards. Depp said he believed pirates were the rock stars of there day.

Very good movie. I still love those old Earl Flynn pirate movies. POC reminded of those.

Great fun! Saw it last night. Depp looks really cool - kind of a mixture of Keith Richards and Papa Lazarou from The League Of Gentlemen.

As for Keira Knightley graemlins/1luvu.gif

I get more and more impressed by Johnny Depp every time out. It really was like watching Keith Richards, now that you mention it.

Must confess, I refused to see it until I read this thread. And it was a good decision to go. What a fun film!

Johnny Depp, Keira Knightley, and Jeffrey Rush were great! I haven't laughed that hard at a movie in a while. I think My Big Fat Greek Wedding was the last one that made me laugh like that.

You can only guess what my biggest issue with the film were... (can you guess?) the black characters - is that necessary? mad1.gif

Anyway, I think I've caused enough trouble for one week.
