I'll be in Paris next week. Are there any good house or jazz spots in the city? And if you know the location, please let me know. I know I should have posted this earlier, but anyone who has some info, let me know. Thanks. Looking forward to a wonderful time. Peace.

MANNNNNNNNNN....

you need to get your ass over to Cheers...

The venue is actually called La Coupole
It's near the tallest business building (with the classy restaurant on the top floor) in paris. Everyone knows the building...

The night is run by Sven and Greg Gautier. Total soul...they know their music. Played there and it was nothing short of amazing. Place is not huge max is probably 600 - 800 ...but man...that's 1 of my top most memorable gigs there.

hope this helps..

In theory ,Erik Rug ,the best french dj in my mind ,should have a new residence at Rex club
.Really ,check this dj ...Cheers is a good party too ,but it depends of the day when you come .
In jazz ,we have many great clubs .But ,it would be harm if you come in august ,because
many of the good jazz session doesn't function during this period .There is a great jam session at 'Baisé salé' every monday created by a percussionist ,many star come to jam ,like Stefano Di Batista ,Kevin Garnet or Henry Texier ...
For Soul/Funk,check le 'Glaz'art' .If you want many address ,check me later.
Peace.

When I was there, I went to a jazz spot in St Germain called La Huchette. The crowd wasn't all that, but the band was, despite no bassist. The band was a three piece horn section (two tenors and one trumpet), a keboardist whose Oberheim OBX synthesizer (haven't seen Oberheims in years) kept the bass parts. Oh, and the baddest drummer on that side of the pond.
