Many of my friends ask me why I wanna stay in Holland and not come back home. Well here's one more reason ;)

There's a party here that goes on regularly, perhaps once a month, it's called LUV DANCIN. They bring great djs and last week-end was dj Spinna's turn.

What was great is that it was in Zanvoort, by the beach, in this open deck club called Tijn Akersloot, on a sunday afternoon. The party was going on from 4 to midnight with a bunch of local djs that rocked (including KC the Funkaholic and Cassie 6, those two cats really impressed me).

So we get there with some friends around 6:30 or 7pm after getting lost twice with the damn directions we had printed out of Mapquest :D
We park the car and from far, I can hear.... THE BOTTLE! I'm thinking maaaaaaaaaaaaan, this party is gonna rock! We get there and meet board member Gregor (Caseem) and Meagan, my buddy and partner in crime Arnaud from Montreal was visiting, and three other friends were with us.

KC was the one playing when I arrived, the man was dropping some straight up funk, 80s and 90s house (Let the beat hit'em!!). I have to hear him play more often. I really liked his set, downtempo, somewhere between 115 and 120 bpm, good music for old people that can't dance as fast as they used to (point finger at myself). Really enjoy getting down at that tempo.

There was at least 500 people in the place. Visualize a nice beach, a sunny day, people dressed lightly, mostly smiling faces, dancing outside, sipping a cold beer. Feels great to not have to dance inside! Lots of beautiful people.

Then Cassie 6 came on and played a very nice housey set. Finally Spinna comes on and just drives us nuts, playing classics (spanish hustle, soul makossa, expansions, the bottle) then you should've seen the people when he dropped "Don't change", "You can do it baby" and "It's alright, I feel it". Oh man!! The energy level was incredible. Oh and when he dropped a Fela track, I can't tell which one it is but it goes into mad rhythms at the end, whooooaaaaa!

I can't remember all the songs, I can tell you that most of them were pretty easy to identify. I really had a good time, and my buddies visiting from MTL were thanking for bringing me there..... I might have some pictures soon, perhaps I'll send them to Gman if they're decent.
