Tried to get my problem resolved with Norton w/o the phone call that costs $30, as I just had a 7 minute conversation with Netzero support that cost $14. I'm unemployed so, every little bit...

But Symantec's website says they are stopping free email and free telephone support on their Norton Systemworks product. (and others , I'm sure, like AntiVirus.) Stopping as of October, but it looks like they disabled the system now, as the form I filled out didn't work.

Anyway, here's the jist of my problem in hopes that someone out there knows about it, or can point me in the right direction:
------------------------------------

My Norton Software, in particular, the Norton System Doctor seems to interfere with my Netzero internet connection. (Juno too, as I tried both.) This hasn't always happened. Only recently. And Netzero/Juno is my only internet connection.

I am running windows 2000. Service pack 2 or 3, I believe.

(I am online now as I'm using another computer.)

What happens is that I go online, and after about 30 seconds of being online, the Netzero executible (zcast.exe) stops running. I determined that at least one of the problems is with sysdoc32.exe, as I have a different problem that happens when I try to use Netzero with my free account (I have both a paid Platinum account and free account. Same with Juno : Platinum and free.) What happens there is that the windows tray at the bottom of my computer screen is frozen, and appears inoperable. When I kill the sysdoc32.exe process, it goes back to normal.

I've tried uninstalling Netzero and Juno and reinstalling. With both the versions I originally had and with the latest versions. I'm not so sure I can do the same with my System Works. I have to find the CD (I know...I know...) and I recently renewed my subscription to it online for another year.
