Read the site guidelines for goodness sake and then find another site that discusses only the music.

Seriously though, if you're referring to Chris' comments in the Nick Holder thread then I think he raises some interesting points..

What's going on.....Marvin Gaye LP
I can only imagine what impact this LP might have had ....without it's lyrics.

my read of the post in question was less a complaint about the lack of house related threads, but more about what the house related threads were actually saying, ie not very much.
i gotta agree, 5 pages on the kc thread milking a dead cow. not particularly healthy discussion.

Like I've had to state in a couple of previous posts: if a topic doesn't interest you, KEEP ON GOING..DON'T READ IT..DON'T REPLY. I'm sure there are a plethora of chat rooms over the WWW. House music ain't dead: some of the people are.
There is not a rule that says you have to like a topic nor reply to it. More unrecognized administrators.

I find that the people who make up the dhp discussion board make me feel like I am in a place with mature people or my age group. I know a few music site boards where good topics get pushed out of the way by dumb ass shit like "Should cats where a collar" type stuff. Here we can discuss House topics and just plain ole mature stuff that you would talk to your friends about. A lot of my local acquaintences visit dhp....I can't think of a better board right now.
The same people that bitch about non-music related posts continue to bitch, rather than getting a clue and either reading music-only topics or moving on to another board that suits their needs. Why is this??.......JMJ graemlins/conf44.gif

I think people should excersize their right NOT to read or reply to post that the find tasteless. DHP is the only place where the "House Community" can be who they are . We are Diverse,Fun,serious, informative, and all about the Music. We are Universial so therefore all of our post will not be purely about the music
that would make us B-O-R-I-N-G !!! and the one thing the "House Community" is NOT is BORING!
We are a people of cultural diverse backgrounds, from all over the world, We are Mothers,Fathers,Sisters,Brothers,Grandparents and CHILDREN that all share the love of one thing in common HOUSE MUSIC sooooooooo.....
IF YOU DON'T LIKE OUR MUSIC, YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE IT !!!!!!

DHP LIVES FOREVER !!!!!
I'll get off my soapbox now!

Just to add
IF YOUR CRAVING FOR MUSIC RELATED POST AND YOU CANT SEE ONE ON THE FIRST PAGE , YOU WOULD BE BETTER SPENDING YOUR TIME RESURRECTING SOME OF THE "MUSICAL RELATED POSTS" THAT SUNK TO THE DEPTHS OF THE BOARD WITH NO REPLIES THAN MOANING ON PAGE ONE ABOUT IT.
DHP at the moment 80+ PAGES.... graemlins/grinyes.gif 80+.. PAGES ON HERE. 80+, did I say 80+
TRY DIGGING, that's waht I used to do !
It's Halloween season, START DIGGING !
IT'S LIKE RECORD BUYING , THE OBVIOUS SHIT IS USUALLY ON THE DISPLAY RACKS AT HMV.
Dig In The Crated ! GET YOU FLIPPIN HANDS DIRTY OR GET A HARD HAT BEFORE YOU MOAN AGAIN.

Non music posts are important and I understand this. I contribute to them and I love reading many of them. For example, I used to be involved in a site called shizm.com (some might remember it) with one of the wackiest boards ever. It was fun as hell to post anything - drawings, photos, jokes, serious topics, whatever, it was like home. You guys are right that it would be extremely boring if there was nothing but music here.
In the Nick Holder thread, I felt we were having a valid discussion and some others thought we were beating a dead horse. In that case people wanted to shut down or belittle a music thread. I felt that Nick had a different approach in the article and that he wasn't being understood completely. I made a comment that there are other threads on the board that are less interesting to me than the Holder interview and that I did'nt want to brush it off as another house is dead post. I guess I was surprised to see people want to diss a music thread and then go off and talk about the weather or have a little diss argument. I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my post. I defeintely appreciate much of the non music talk here.
Now I don't want to "hijack" this thread and discuss Nick's take or "house is dead" again so please don't go there on this thread. The focus here is respecting the board rules and accepting the fact that there are posts other than music posts. I hope I am making myself clear when I say that I enjoy many of the non music posts and I am sorry if I offended anyone with my comments. I enjoy being a member here and hope to bring some positive contributions in the future. Thank you all for being so interesting and Gman for offering a well administered community like this. I love it.
Peace and have a great weekend.

Nick read the thread. He got something out of it. He was going to post, but i guess he didn't.
He said that the interviewer misconstrued what he said. "misconstrue" was the word he used, but that is what he meant. During the interview he meant one thing, and after it was edited and in print, it sounded like he meant another.
I hope that puts some people's minds to rest.
