What's going on family !

Awhile back I put up a post that I wanted to throw a picnic when the weather got better...

Well now the weather is getting better and I'm starting t plan for it...

A few of you expressed an interest in playing at the picnic and I would be honored to have you !

I don't know yet where it's going to be but I'm open to suggestions...I'm going to provide the equiptment to use..dj's obviously need their own records..

I can't pay people but this will be a great opportunity for budding dj's to promote themselves and get to meet other people involved in the house scene in Chicago !

The date I'm thinking is June 21st...If you have an interest in participating ... PLEASE get at me on my website's contact page or here in the forum...

I do want to get a cd from everyone intersted in spinning...you can mail it to me or drop it off at Gramercy or Buddha to me. My contact info is on my web site.

For those that are curious about my reasons for doing this , I am starting to make a name for myself but i want to really get my name in front of the true heads who enjoy this music. Also i don't know too mant of you and this would be a fun way to meet you all !

Anyway... i got 2 months to do this and I gotta get started !

get at me !

I'll post updates weekly on my website !

Have you secured a location and permit yet?

Wait until you see the prices the city charges...

You might want to team up with someone. The same one who I referred you to before on the DJ side.....

Good luck with this!

The picnic angle is a good way to spin it.

Do they ask for general liability insurance in Chicago for public use of facilities, i.e. parks, open space, etc.?

How much red tape is there involved with getting the permits and how much does it cost?

I'd be VERY surprised if they don't.

It's 1 to 5 Million dollars average here in NJ - if you can FIND somebody who will write a policy.

It's almost the same. It's a lot of red tape now. It's not as easy as it used to be....

permit for picnic with amplified music - $600

$1M liability policy for picnic - $200

deposit to park for cleanup after picnic - $2000

The good time had by all who attend such a monumental event - PRICELESS!!!
