I always liked The System's version of the song best! Robert Palmer's version was alright. Wasn't he like the king of remakes?

The Cherelle version sorta make more sense to me..but the Robert Palmer 12'' rocks... ps does anyone remember a Tribute to James Brown that came out in the 80's ? Joe Cocker came out, Robert Palmer sang " I feel Good" and a lot of Soul stars came out..

My favourite is the version on Kerri's "Kaoz Theory" cd .. okay now I'm confused. I looked in the cd notes and it's not listed as the "The system" graemlins/conf44.gif
I liked them both, although I didn't feel that it needed to be remade by Robert Palmer, but at least Murphy and Frank got paid. I always went back and forth between the regular and Spanish version by the System. Phucked people up when they tried to sing-a-long while dancing to it.....JMJ biggrinangel.gif

Musically, it's the system straight up! Never was feeling Robert Palmer, especially after that wack remake of "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On". I remember back in school, all of the pop music lovers didn't even know it was a remake.
The only thing Palmer has going for him: He came out of the Power Station.

Yeah, definitely the original. The System rocked! However, I liked some of Robert Palmer's originals. "Looking for Clues" is a favorite of mine. That was a little bit before his suit and tie transformation.
Of course The System version is better,
but Robert Palmer did a great job of covering the song.
I personally like both versions.

I like the Spanish version by The System (Tu Estas En Mi Systema). I love Robert Palmer. My favorite song/video was Some Like it Hot. Although some of the chicks looked like vampires in the videos, the whole little black dress, hair in a bun, severe eye makeup thing was a trip.

I met him when I went to his concert.I was in line w/ a friend of mine and we noticed a back door to the concert hall and it was unlocked! This was during 1986-1988 Addicted to Love Tour?..anyway we snuck in and saw him rehearse He was all casual in a white t-shirt and 501's and this was in his Suit and Tie wearing days. I was great! 2 bad Tony Thompson or Bernard Edwards werent there playing w/ him. ps I think he also worked w/Gary Numan 1980..?

I liked both versions because they were so different. The System's version had a more techy feel while Robert's version was more organic and rock oriented with the gated drums and all. I liked Robert's video with the skater girl. The rest of the album had a more reggae vibe. And about Robert's albums, listen to "Sneaking Sally through the Alley". Pretty damn funky. Peace.

Probably my favorite. I like the Dub version as well and the Todd Terry Remix. Great track!!!!
Okay, forget the Robert Palmer cover. Here is what I dug up from the crates on the "You are in My System."
Naturally, there
The System
0-99938
A. You are in My System
B. Now I am Electric
The System
0-99892
A. Tu Esta En Mi Systema (You are in My System)
B1. Tu Esta En Mi Systema (Bilingual Dub version)
(You are in My System)
B2. Tu Esta En Mi Systema (Acapella version)
(You are in My System)
The System
DMD624 (promo)
A. Sweat
B1. Your Are in My System (Bilingual Dub version)
B2. You are in My System (Acapella version)
Of course, then there's the Ibadan remixes.
By the way, the beginning of that Sweat is a tight little Acapella that I used to drop.
"Wanna party tonight, you gonna have to sweat some...Wanna do it right, your gonna have to sweat somemore...sweat...sweat....
then slam drop the next song...
Wicked sh*t. If you can track down the promo do so.
Robert Palmer
Peace
