Just bought this today and listened to it for the first time since the late 80s when it came out. Oh, My Goodness!!!!! Now I know why WBGO (Newark)used to run this album to death!!!!! Sarah's contralto (deep) voice, meshing with the Sergio Mendez arrangements. Unbelievable. I ask myself, why didn't I get this ablbum on CD much earlier. Answer: I didn't like the "contemprary Sarah Vaughn". (What the heck was I thinking????). Sassy's last album, I believe. She knocks these songs OUT!!!!
Oh, yeah, I talked about Ivan Lins on another thread. My Brazilian fetish continues.
NOTE: To Timmy Richardson. If I'm invading your territory (album, artists of the day), let me know and I'll stop. Peace.

another album I play a lot is Conrad Herwig - The latin Side of John Coltrane, it's got some great musicians doing latin arrangements of his stuff, pretty soulful and meditative

Saw this album plenty of times an never picked it up. And the five snipets they play on BarnesandNoble.com are amazing. Why I didn't get this record (I love some Blanchard and Lins) is beyond me. graemlins/jpshakehead.gif Thanks for the heads up. It's bought tomorrow. Peace.
