I was thinking about something very similar last night. About how there are some people that will dance to ANYTHING. I understand that they're just there to have a good time, but do these people have any sort of standards? Are they truly feeling the music or are they just going through the motions?

Yes I agree, I see people 2 stepping to the beat. But you can tell they don't have soul. Meaning they don't really feel the emotions, sweat, tears behind the waves of sound. They are just mimicking the nice dance steps they see other dancers do... They forget that it's the music that makes it... Speaking of dancing, where's sister Shalewa these days? Haven't heard from her in a while. Don't tell me she got a life and got off the board...

It might look like they are not feeling it to you.. but to them it might be a different story.. or vice versa

Now we gotta make sure that people understand what we are feeling when we dance.. sheesh!! Instead of concerning yourself with what we feel when we dance or not dance.. why not just mind your own shit!!

I feel (depending ...)
I also don't dance very well ...
I also don't care that I don't dance very well. However, when I feel it - Woohoo!!!!!
In my head I'm a fantastic dancer so clear the floor!

Did anyone see the Simpsons episode when Lisa got the dancing shoes from the scientist? I love the part when she's in tap class and Ralph Wiggum goes "Lisa's bad dancing is making my feet sad." Hilarious ... icon_rofl.gif

But I might have to add that I see a few who really don't feel it..

There was a thread about how break dancing wasn't just about dancing on the break but about the b-boy going crazy with the music that when the break came in he had to release.

Currently I see Most standing and staring at the dancer in the middle and never really pay attention to the music and jump in when the last dancer leaves. I see this today in a few dancers.

But then again your right they might feel it in their own way. I am used to seeing the effect in the body language.

Maybe i'm too old school I remember battling on the floor and I remember going off just because it was just too hot a track to stay still....

I still feel it.... ;)

Now don't get your panties in a knot about this. Can you honestly tell me that I proclaimed anything about peoples action and did I qualify that with an announcement that they had to declare? Now you can debate the issue but again it was my observation. Your right what difference does it make??? If I offended you well sorry, but I really can't see it... Peace out... take it down a 1000... graemlins/conf44.gif

i LOVE watching those who REALLY get into dancing...how they lose themselves in the music. I, also, like watching those who can't dance but will be sitting down...eyes closed and hand in the air.

Then there are those who just "showcase". I see that in a lot of the younger kids. They have a lot of choppy moves but no soul. graemlins/conf44.gif go figure!
