Hey guys im just a little curious to see how u feel about this subject!

Sometimes recently i have wanted some tracks and have found that maybe 2 or 3 of them are on an album!

I no that it could limit you if u ever wanted to mix some of the tracks together but does anyone find buying an album for two or three cuts is better cos you get the chance to let other tunes grown on you that are also on the album.Maybe even tunes you wouldnt have bought otherwise.

i posted a topic earlier about body and soul volume 4.

i was gonna pick up these track below individually and when i saw this album i noticed they were all on it!

COOLY'S HOT BOX-What A Surprise
KENNY BOBIEN-Father (
NATHAN HAINES-Earth Is The Place (MONDO GROSSO featuring MONDAY MICHIRU-Star Suite

i also listened to the mix cd and heard that the versions were all the ones i wanted.

Does anyone reccomend this kind of purchasing!!

There's no reason not to pick up that B&S compilation if you really only want the vocal versions and don't need the instrumentals. Most multi-vinyl comps these days have only 2-3 songs per side so they are good quality for club play, and as long as there's more than 2 songs on them that you like, then it is economically wise as well. Of course, what you do miss, in getting most comps, is the instrumentals and dubs and acapellas that can be very handy for a DJ.

Decent double packs are rare these days. Nervous Records had the best thing going with the two Byron Stingly and Kim English releases. Double and Triple pack album releases that sold for under 15 bucks, now that's a steal, plus the fact that these albums were great!!!!!

My first bad taste when it came to purchasing double packs was Danny Teneglia's "Bottom Heavy" on Tribal America. Damn near every mix sounded exactly the same, some extended, some shortened. What gives?

Then you have a gem of a double pack like Ruffneck feat Yavahn's "Baby You" on MAW Records, Ja Shay's "Shout Hallelujia" on Gossip Records, Gerald Dameon's "Summer Madness" on Giant Step, USG's "Ncameu" on Clairaudience, Tempo 2's "You're a Superstar" also on Clairaudience. Quality double packs with quality material.

Now compilations are another story. The first Body and Soul comp, a triple pack, was my favorite out of all of those releases. The Jazz in the House comps on Slip n Slide are good, Nuphonic's comps are also good to listen to. Then there are the ones on BBE that just about blow many compilations out the box.

Peace

IMO the best compilations were from Strictly Rhythm. They may have not thrown the best mix of a track on the CD all the time, but you're in luck because they put "FULL" versions of their releases on these compilations. The same goes for Tribal America in the mid 90s.

Nervous, Eightball, and even Freeze would only place edits on their compilations. That's wack!!!
