Have you ever willed yourself to find a record and it magically appeared? Call it a coincedient but I have thought very hard about a record and then found it very soon after... this has worked a couple times but I can't control it....believe me I've tried. It usually happens with records that I've wanted for a while, cause I try it with records that I want really badly at the moment but just recently found out about and ...nothing.
am I graemlins/stupid.gif ....maybe, but **** it.
Anyone else intune with the vinyl gods?? hail.gif
I once went to a record fare and was sure that I'm going to find the Tasty Treats EP on Citi Records (there used to be a lot of conversatio nabout that one here) in those crates. To make sure that I got this (I went with some crazy crate diggers), I told almost everyone to look out for that one resp. hand it out to me :D
Almost everyone.
As I met board member Ngeso and he showed me his findings, I could see the Tasty Treats EP lurking out of his pile. But no chance, he wasn'T willing to part it.
The sadest part of this story is that one of the guys I told to look out for it handed it over to Ngeso, becasue he didn't know or recognise it. Damn...superfluos to emntion taht I got it a few months later from another friend.
But sometimes it seems to work. If you want a record badly, it eventually comes to you.
I try that with Black Cock "Cosmic" at the moment, but it doesn't seem to work right now graemlins/conf44.gif

Peace,
Gerd I know you're looking for that one Gerd, you've got to be patient.... I know It's real hard!
I had a bad expierence like that last year. After Suenomartino sent me a Metro Area radio mix that had Jive Rhythm Trax 2 on it. I was really wanting that cut... I went to a record fair the weekend after hearing the mix and actually found the record for .25 cents. it had no sleeve at all and was stuffed in with abunch of other records that weren't in sleeves. When I took my selections up to the guy he said; "Damn, How did this get in here...I'm sorry, this one's not for sale" I told him "Dude, I just spent all this time going through you're records and the one record that I really want...you're not going to sell to me" homie was just like "Bro, I'm sorry pick out 5 other records and I'll give em to you". I was getting really heated, I told him "Bro, you're ****ing with my emotions here I was all excited to find this record..how about I give you $20 for it" but homeboy just wouldn't do it. My friend that I was with wanted to roll this cat up and just take all his record, but I said **** it.... and just last weekend I found parts 1 & 2 in mint condition in their sleeves for $5 a piece.... http://deephousepage.com/smilies/joint.gif
Maaaaaaan, I would have put all the other records up his a*'*'*. I can imagine how disappointing this was for you.
But I was also really pissed as I saw Ngeso with a record he didn't know that I wanted so badly...but I guess the Burell credits told him that it must be good smile.gif
Peace,
Gerd

Here's a couple times the vinyl gods were on my side..... this past weekend I put a bid on a copy of "Moments Of Love" by Art Of Noise and then went to a record fair and found 2 copies for a couple bucks a piece.. Thankfully when I got home I saw that I had lost the auction.
Another time after seeing Theo Parrish play on a Saturday night I stayed up and went to a record fair on Sunday morning. I told myself that I would find one of about 4-5 records that I had heard that night that I really wanted and sure enough up pops Herbie Hancock "Magic Number"....
The same with me recently.
Listened to this mix and Andrew Osborne identified half of the songs for me which I spotted immediatedly...
Check it Klas, I think you might like what you hear:

I don't know, it's just not working for me... what is it?
It is a mixtape from a club named The Front from 1984.
The DJ there was Klaus Stockhausen and he reallyhas a nice and smooth selection on that live mix.
Strange that it doesn't work with you.
Peace,
Gerd

some records and songs definetly have "magical" powers.

i did that with the 'spread that feeling' 12 by pleasure. jeremy newall recommended it to me, and what should i find in a shopping trolley at the back of a dusty old store in Montclair, New Jersey?
definitely a magical record
those jive rhythm tracks are good. i bought them off some guy on ebay a few years ago in the middle of a pile of old 80s and 90s dj tools
