I bought this record a few weeks ago now. I noticed that the copy I listened to in the store was warped in such a way that if I were to touch the record slightly, the needle would jump. I then took a few other copies out o fhte sleeve only to notice that they were all warped in the same manner. I was wondering if any of ya'll had the same experience with your own copy?

THE WACKNESS!!

It's a sha-a-a-a-me when my records skip like that. It's a sha-a-a-a-me when there's no quality control.

None of their other releases do that. Maybe they stored the shit in some desert warehouse before they dropped it. This should definitely br brough to the label's attention.

Anyone know someone there?

I have three copies, all purchased from different stores, and two of them are fine. The third one is concave/convex so I can't cue it.

This Fallout release seems to be of poorer quality in general than the previous ones.

I'm glad you guys brought this up. I bought a copy online from dancetracks (not slander just truth) and it has 3 skips on the vocal side. Of course the instrumental side is flawless. The first skip is minor, but the last 2 skips are right where I would like to be getting out of it. I'm sad because I love this song.

Yes, this is a fallout release. I wouldn't mind a sticker falling off. Like I said, I checked at least four copies ion teh store and they were all warped in teh same way (concave). I just went with it. At least mine doesn't skip like the one purcahsed from the aforementioned site. I just have to be real ginger when cueing. Its a pain.

Everyone has had the misfortune of getting a warped record every now & then.
Interestingly enough many warps do happen during shipping as well as when they are pressed.
If the package is placed next to a heat source during shipping you have a lot unhappy people out there.
Many will even buy them even if they are warped because they love the song so much they are afraid it won't be available in the future.
Record stores should take them back and chase down the distributors for sure!
It's always best to check your records first!

If heat can warp it, heat can fix it!

For warps I use a hairdryer or my lady's curling iron.
Use the hot setting on the spot, bend back & repeat until you can get a uniformed edge.
A lamp works great too!
Test out your method on a record which you may not care for that much.
Or buy a couple of $0.50 records, warp them and try to fix them.

I hope this helps some of you out there.

P.S. I sometimes use the stove if it's a real nasty warp.
But if you try this, please be careful!!!!!!

mine's fine but I have found that if there's not enough weight on the needle, it will skip. This often happens when the grooves are a bit shallow or even too deep. A record weight sometimes helps.

Apart from applying heat to unwarp a record you can also try to leave it under a big stack of records for a few days, sometimes works.
