Can We Talk About Adding Fills?

Something I am yet to tackle and really need to start doing is adding in fills to my tracks. As it stands I have a bunch of long loops thrown together.

How do you approach fills on your drums?

How Mathematical are you with them?

Should Bass/Chords and Keys have them?

Is this the wrong time to bring up Bridges?

what is your process?

I don't really have a process as such
I just try and replicate what I am hearing on another track
I listen to lots of live drummers for inspiration
not much help I know
