I too used to hear conversations in which each and every person began with or congenially joined the conversation of what they heard from (Rickky Lake, Oprah, whatever) TV. "I heard on ... the other day/ well yesturday I heard on .... such&such say/Did you see or I seen on the news...."...... graemlins/sleep2.gif
I dont need to ask where many get their ideas from. "The average mind in America feeds on the Mass media", E. A. Ross wrote eons ago (1920's), "like a silk worm feeds on a mulberry tree".
Very depressing to see people dealing with Hollywood actors and NBA star's lives yet not realizing that this was a trivial report that was designed to distract the common robot.
Heard one sista ask was Bad Boy II hard? Two actors, 2 comedians...R U F'n kiddin!.....many think that TV is a source of knowledge, a sample of reality that's good enough to base a conversation on.. graemlins/stupid.gif graemlins/stupid.gif
Dont get me wrong, I am graemlins/stupid.gif , but this
takes it to an entirely different level.
TV as reality.....robots are like a meandering stream, so shallow that i can see the bottom.
I am angry about the misconceptions of most!
