Hey Y'all,

Just wondering if Barney's is just a distribution place and/or a record store.

Also, is it still around? Is Dance Mania still around??? Whats the story with Dance Mania anyway??

Thanks.

I don't know if they still exist but back in the early 70's Barney's was the distributor for my uncle's record store under the 63rd street El tracks.

I think they still are in business. A lot of the Dance Mania catalog is being repressed and at the bottom it still says 'Distributed by Barney's'.

I believe that Dance Mania is owned by Ray Barney and Warehouse was owned by the late Armando Gallop. Both labels were distributed by Barney.

I was just curious. I recently saw a small documentry on ghetto house from chicago and they showed Barney's records. They also interviewed Barney.

Plus, I have to admitthey do have some jams on that label.

No Shame in my GAME!
