While the dj is playing, does hearing them on the mic for whatever reason enhance or decrease your experience/vibe while you party @ a club or lounge?

Just curious...

It depends on the place.Being on the mic does not fit well in an underground enviroment. Then again,I have seen parties come alive from me talkin shit on the mic.It depends on the situation.Sometimes it's good to break the rules.

Depends on when he/she decides to be a babblin' brooke and for how long. I don't mind someone going over the mic to introduce the next DJ or at the end of the night to thank the crowd for showing up, to drive home safe, or whatever, but once you step on the mic in the middle of a tune that's got me and/or the crowd groovin' then I'm like "STFU!!!" I agree. But Jamie, what I REALLY want to know is what you were playing during the footage from Chip E's UnUsual Suspects trailer (the snippet)!

time to jack is playing over it: you're werkin' the eq sumthin' fierce - while you "rolled" your whole body into it...

I really wished I was @ that party!
BTW, whatever happened to that link?

Wayne Williams is a master on the mic. No one else in our crew ever said a word. Wayne talks shit for days...always entertaining.

Time and place, however it really comes down to how creative the person (DJ/MC) on the mic is being. It is fun to play with an effects unit, some sexy dialogue all pitched down and swarthy, anything really simple works. Shit talkin can get a little annoying sometimes, it is fun and it definately can get the crowd hype but, it can get old...it just has to be at the right time. It can really mess things up if the person on the mic (if it is not the DJ) doesn't know the track and is talking at the wrong time.
