okay - i purchased Dazzle Digital Video Creator 80. It comes with a USB device that allows me to encode VHS. The device has RCA inputs for L-R Audio and Video.
Somehow when i was downloading the software I goofed. I'm trying to un-install the software from the control panel, add/remove software, but for some reason I can not delete the name of the program from the software menu.
When I try to re-install the software it acts like it installed it, but it doesnt. i went to start, run, entered "regedit" to remove from my software registry, but still now luck.
tech support opens at 8am on monday.
any suggestions on how to delete the program? by the way, im on windows ME.

if you had to download some software, sounds like a cookie may be on your c drive somewhere making it think it's still installed when it isn't.
suggestion:
go to the c drive and do search for files with the extension that it common to the application and delete them. only delete files associated with that appliation. that should completely remove it.

Right click on the icon (either from your desktop or the Start Menu) locate the properties for the icon, this will guide you to the application's folder inside C:\Program Files.
Or you can go directly to C:\Program Files directly and locate the folder.
Delete the appropriate folder (NOT the Program Files folder). Now you can open Regedit and search for both the application name and the name of the software vendor.
It's quite rare (I've never seen it) where a software installer uses Internet Cookies.
Once you've removed the application and references to it in the registry go to
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs
and delete any references to the application there.
If this doesn't work...buy a Mac.
What are you doing buying video hardware/software without consulting me first?

You could always try using System Restore to roll Windows back to an earlier date. Just make sure you've uninstalled any instances of the program from Add/Remove programs first..

The Answer
Microsoft registry cleaner:

Second program did it for me.
However, problem still not fixed. Basicly, ME sucks. I need to update a bunch of drivers in order to use this USB device. Most likely to return the product and dragging out my mac from the basement.
