is it just me or does somebody repeat this topic every other week? There are many other threads (probably searchable) on this subject.
Not to be a total crab, here's a few more:
Iggy Pop - "lust For Life"
Jimy Hendrix - "Crosstown Traffic" "Third Stone From The Sun" "Let Me Stand Next To Your Fire"
Ramones - "I Wanna Be Sedated" "Rockaway Beach" "Blitzkrieg Bop" (hey ho let's go!)
The Clash - "Rock The Casbah" "Magnificent 7"(a disco classic) There's countless other Clash songs
Steve Miller - "living In The USA" (amazing song, great harmonica) "Fly Like An Eagle" (a little mellow, but a classic hip hop break
Per Ubu - "Non-Alignment Pact" (very early punk. Great song that most people have never heard)
The Selecter - "On My Radio" (more of a ska/new wave song, but great nonetheless)
Nirvana - damn near half of their shit is really fast and high energy
Santana - The big hits plus they did a live cover of the Zombies' "She's Not There" which is awesome.
Janis Joplin - "Try a Little Harder"
Joe Cocker - "Woman To Woman" (another classic break record)
in fact, those old "Ultimate Breaks and Beats" compilations are a good source for dance-able rock songs. Any hip hop record store should carry them.
