View Full Version : What's your favorite Ron Trent track
I like the early stuff on Prescription but at this moment, I'm really feeling "Lamentations" wit Carl Hancock Rux on the vocals. Track is real deep.
Close second: "NcameU" on Clairaudience.

Anything Prescription!!!
More specifically, the Foot Therapy EP. Altered States on Warehouse/DJAX still has a place in my heart.

I like always loved his remix of Jody Watleys 'Saturday Experience". Did alot of heads sleep on this or what.

I agree with you guys on NCAMEU on Clairaudience.
Kurt Harmon Project "Comin back" is probably my favorite. It has this ealy 80s feel (reminds me of NY City Peech Boys "Don't make me wait")and sounds great as a downtempo cut.
Ancestry "Your're the one" on Large was pretty Dope.
Amel Larreaux "Get up", his remix to that was off the hook!!!!!!!!!
Peace

"Surrrender" by SEEK....Ron's mix is dopeHello Serge,
Dope choice sir ,I'm real glad you mentioned that record a very positive message runs through that 12" .I'm also very sad as that record has somewhat disapeared from my music room. I have wanted to play it a three previous parties and they have all been early morning affairs and I now fear the worst .
I'm gonna have to find another .
Ron has done alot of wicked records but Altered States is a masterpiece and I believe he was very young when that was recorded .Does anyone know how young ? .
I like that mix he did for Batidos last year as well .
Peace Alex :(
i also liked richard worth's "rise"-the version without the flute.
"the dance" was hot, too.

Hey prussel, the amazing Inner City cut is Do Me Right. I rediscovered it this summer when I played a mixtape I made when it was a new release.
I dragged out the vinyl and played it for hours.
I also love The Choice, and Introduce My Love on Clairaudience.

Well, "Altered States" remains an anthem and an instant classic (and he was 13 when he did it !)
But i quite love all early Presciption releases "Stresskill" feat. Anthony Nicholson, The Unknown (Derrick Carter) "Nagual", Carlton on Nitegrooves with "Can't live without your love" (Benji Candelario & Lil Louis mixes are damn good to !), "The Choice" and "Don't Try" + Track with no name are timeless too...definately too many good tracks, unfortunaley i'm not in nowadays Ron sound anymore...check the soulful thread out !
Peace !

Hey DHP fam, havent been in for a while and scrolling back I found this three day old postand thought Id revive it.
I just want to thank 76 for starting this thread, cos I LOVE Ron Trents stuff.
My favourite RT track of all time apart from 'I feel the rhythm' is this mix he did on KMS of the song 'House of love' by Sonya blade and the funky home dogs, I tell ya this track is SLAMMIN, and it blew my mind the first time I heard it and I still love it now like I did back then.
apart from that there are a few others I want to mention:
on Prescription
Last Session "sometimes I feel like"
Noni "Teach me/keep me satisfied"
Noni"be my"(especially the red heels mix)
d'pac "I wouldnt"
Ani"love is the message"
Latecia"love will make it right"(on Clairaudience)
and most of the USG stuff he put out on Clairaudience and Distance.
also there are a couple of numbers that came out on Clubhouse records. one called "the weekend" by The Erb, which is him and Braxton Holmes and also a remix called Ron's foreplay, which he did on Baxton holmes 12 inches of pleasure, real nice stuff but very hard to get a hold of.
If anyone has copies of this Clubhouse records stuff they wanna sell, drop me a line
Thanx.

"Altered States" will always be Ron's perennial classic. I remember Ron came over my house one day back in the late 80's (coming from school at Luther South) to play the early versions of "Altered States". Even hearing the unmixed versions, you knew the song would be big.
I also like the stuff Ron did on Prescription, Guidance, and Giant Step Records, but "Altered States" is the anthem that he'll be remembered by.

My Fave's:

_USG : Coconut Jam (deep & terrific)
_Carl Hancock Rux : Lamentations (nobody can ignore this one...)
